[PRICE ERROR] Energizer AA Ultimate Lithium, 80 Pack, $4.24 + Delivery @ Bulk Batteries via Amazon Au

Moved to Forum: Original Link

I hate battery wastage. I love eneloops. But apparently some people want single-use batteries. If you're going to buy single use batteries, then these are a great deal.

I tried checking out and it gave me $4.24 + $10 delivery = $14.24

That's $0.178 per battery.

Price error? Meh, who knows

Mod: See comments, most likely a listing error, purchase at your own risk.

At this price, would they be real?

  • +3

The seller “Bulk Batteries” has an influx of deals right now on OzBargain…just an FYI

  • -4

    $10.00 for shipping

    • +3

      80 batteries for $15 still a bargain

    • Yep. Says + delivery in the title, and $10 delivery in the description.

    • +1

Consider the weight of those 80, it's well worth it :)

      • They are lithium do maybe not as heavy?

  • +5

Roll of the dice. Will see if my 240 batteries turn up to keep me powered for the next decade…

  • +3

    The new toilet paper/pasta currency?

  • +8

Thanks op bought 3 packs to power my time machine so i can go back and get more people to vote for violent soho

    • +1

      Amateur!

  • +13

These usually retail at $3-$4 per battery. Must to be fakes.

    • +5

      Too good to be true?

    • +2

You'll know when you get them and check the voltage. Real ones are >1.8V. Fakes probably 1.5V.

      • description says these are 1.5v

        • +1

But when you test new AA lithium’s the voltage is always over 1.5, usually around 1.7 to 1.8 volts

          • @deepblonde: Indeed because this is the big selling point for what is otherwise an expensive cell. They deliver 1.5v practically till they're exhausted. Other batteries tail off voltage below the initial 1.5v as they discharge.

        • 1.5v is just nominal.

    • Price error.

    • More likely the price is for a single battery which is all you'll be getting.

    • +1

Not fakes, it is a simple ASIN error and you can see that from the name, description and image all not matching up. Everyone will be refunded, we have a support ticket open with Amazon as over 7000 orders were placed. That shows that this site works very very well and we would love it if it were for the batteries at the correct pricing ;)

      Have a nice day all.

  • My theory is that either they are mass data entry price error (being the same seller) or they are genuine batteries but have been in storage past their recommended date (batteries lose their charge over time) hence the massive discounts….

    • +2

These have a wicked shelf life, 10+ years I think, even outside that they're likely to be good..

      • Description says 7

    • +1

You are correct, it is an ASIN error and all orders will be cancelled and refunded.

  • +7

Likely an error in the heading:

    Item condition new
    1pc

Good luck but my experience with third party sellers on Amazon is that you need to deal with them (and not Amazon) - and for me, it's not worth it for $4

    • +6

Also says "Zinc-manganese dioxide (Zn/MnO2)", which is regular alkaline, not lithium.

  • +2

It feels doggy, but I ordered 4packs anyway.

    • +11

      feels doggy

      http://bit.ly/2U3nWVq

      • +12

Was hoping for a link to doggy style porn.
        I’m not angry, I’m disappointed

        • +2

Just buy the battery pack, then there will never be a need to switch off the vibrator! :)

        • +2

Same Muscles, but I was angry at first, then started smiling.

  • +3

I bought some energizer cr2032 batteries off ebay, had all the logos everything but ended up being fake. The batteries would die so damn quickly and even without usage.

  • Zinc-manganese dioxide (Zn/MnO2) no added mercury or cadmium
    Shelf life : 7 years at 21C

Alkaline not lithium, according to specs? With that in mind price may actually be accurate, these might ship. Just consider that if you're not actually in the market for batteries…

That said, if you order 2+ packs it's an okay price tbh (shipping is fixed to $10?)

    • Not sure if they messed up with the title or spaces, L91 is Lithium.

      • This kind of stuff up is very common on Amazon. You almost always get what's outlined in the specs - not picture or title. You'll likely get money back but just note that

        • +1

          Absolutely correct correct

It is a simple ASIN error and you can see that from the name, description and image all not matching up. Everyone will be refunded, we have a support ticket open with Amazon as over 7000 orders were placed. That shows that this site works very very well and we would love it if it were for the batteries at the correct pricing ;)

          Have a nice day all..

          • @walksaus: Was the price correct for the (correct) specs? I wouldn't actually mind receiving those.

Knew they wouldn't be lithium (was expecting alkaline), but I need batteries!

  • Any AAAs? Most things we use in homes take AAAs

  • Pricing error or just plain fake batteries.

  • +1

wow - too good not to find out!

  • +1

    Thanks OP!

  • +6

Based on the number of these ridiculously priced battery deals that are being posted, I think someone at Bulk Batteries could be looking for a new job.

    • +1

      Might be his/her last day.

    • +2

Unlikely. It's a third party seller. Not covered by Amazon's return policies. More likely to be fake.

    • +1

Fortunately the error is on Amazons side an the matching of the ASIN which is lucky because otherwise i would have to fire myself ;)

  • +3

Great, this will keep my electric mercedes going for a while…

  • +1

Well since I continually miss out on toilet paper, I'm gonna get me some lithium batteries to barter with.

  • +3

I'm not sure whether to buy these just because it is way too good to be true.

These prices make no sense unless they are all fake or expired.

    • +3

Go on. You know you want to…

      • +6

        Ok you've convinced me.

We're either all getting scammed together or celebrating together in 1-2 weeks.

        • +1

          watch this space

  • You would assume that Amazon being a huge company they have rigorous rules and policy around selling through their site. I'm sure they would put customer service at the forefront of the business, otherwise people power can cause a huge dint to their reputation if they allowed false advertisements. I'm sure Ozbargain follow the same process.

    • +5

Nope Amazon doesn't filter scammers. I got scammed and took Amazon nearly a month to refund the money. Was a DJI Drone.

If it's too good to be true, it usually is.

      • Yours is a good example and I will seek a refund if it’s incorrect.

        • Your money will be refunded and will be refunded very soon. We are working with Amazon now as it wa an ASIN error causing the title to be incorrect.

  • +1

Mmmm the description says 1Pc. I sure hope that is not the case for $14.24! I want my 80pc lithium disposables!

  • +3

The Part Number for these, C2I03-20MA43776 seems to be unique. Closest I could find is C2I04-20MA43776 which is also on amazon (under "schoolbags") https://www.amazon.com.au/Bigfoot-Outdoor-Basecamp-Oversized…

  • +1

Giving it a crack.. just a heads up, expedited delivery is only $1 extra.

    • Also the shipping combines if you buy the AA and AAA from the comments above in the one order so if i turns out to be real , however unlikely, it's only $10 shipping for both.

  • +3

Price, ingredients, voltage, shelf life: fake af.

    • +1

Not fakes, it is a simple ASIN error and you can see that from the name, description and image all not matching up. Everyone will be refunded, we have a support ticket open with Amazon as over 7000 orders were placed. • Wow bargain, and landfill.

  • Listing says:

    • Zinc-manganese dioxide

    Is that really lithium battery?

    • -2

Obviously the poster here doesn't even bother

  • -8

    I hate battery wastage.

So don't post deals encouraging people to buy 80 single-use batteries. If any of those batteries end up in landfill, it's on you.

  • Now unavailable …

    • I just got 3 different types and received confirmation at 17.08.

  • Considering they are selling a 4-pack of the same batteries for $17.40, I don't think you are going to get your batteries.

    *** UPDATE***

    Hi All,

This is my Amazon store. We had a listing error with Amazon and price is actually for 1 battery. The data we sent was correct however Amazon replaced the title with their title linked to their ASIN and their title is incorrect.

We are working with Amazon to refund all orders as there was over 7000 orders placed.

Please understand this is a nightmare situation for me, even trying to clear the 7000 emails i received in my inbox over the weekend and also the cancelation requests in addition. I plead with you not to create a cancel order request, this will be done and we are working with Amazon, you will definitely get your money back.

Im trying to be as open and transparent as possible here to keep everyone informed.

In light of all of this i will put together a special deal on these batteries for those that still want some of them. It will of course be nowhere near as good but i am looking to do it at a very small margin that would allow me to cover my costs and it will be the best available on line or offline.

I will also let everyone know that I am currently in the process of testing several different battery brands using several West mountain pro battery analysers. I will Provide test results in the coming days after i have collated the items. The main reason for this being that there was a test done on a current affair comparing Aldi, Energizer and Duracell batteries next to each other and it was done in a terrible way that is not reliable and does not test any variables. Also when my old marketing manager last posted some deals on here a couple of years ago we got royally flamed for the products and not offering the value you buyers are after. There was some misinformation posted from other websites and some batteries not compared to the correct ones. I will provide all of this information at the time so that you can make an informed decision. I will also be on hand to answer questions as i am the technically minded owner with over 17 years of experience rather than the marketing manager that had only been here for a month at the time.

    • Honest mistake mate. Must be a nightmare to refund them all.

      Amazon is kinda finiky

    • Thanks for honesty and update

    • Thanks for the transparency. Amazon just cancelled my order.

  • -8

This is rediculous, blaming everything on Amazon and hiding Ur mistake. Have some Balls to honour it

    • +3

This mentality is the cancer of this site

      • -4

And U r a bloody idiot on this website

    • +1

Regardless of either Amazon or seller's mistake, stores are allowed to cancel price error orders. It's normal in all stores' T&Cs. Fair dinkum mate, no seller large or small, can afford to honour 7000 orders at a fraction of their usual prices…

  • LOL they said they received over 7000 orders during the price error.

    • +2

A pack of 4 Energizer AA Ultimate Lithium is ~$14. 80 would be @280. Say seller is making 50% profit, so his cost is $140. Say also that a fraction of his claim is true, 1/20 of 7000 = 350 orders for this one (forget about his other price error deals for simplicity sake), his cost price is $49000. If he has to honour the error, he will only get $4.24x350=$1484. That's $47,500 loss, before Amazon fees etc. No seller will want to wear this loss, especially private store owners.

    • +1

It was hectic, however it was the best 10 seconds of my life when i went in Monday morning and was told there was 7000 orders over the weekend until my staff member said "but… there's kind of an issue…".

  • +1

Awww man! My post was going so well!! 150+, 3K+ clicks and only one neg. :( Now it's all gone…

  • +2

    Hi All,

Here is a short video apology to all of the users effected and a thank you to those OzBargainers that supported me: https://vimeo.com/399035194/26619e3f44

As promised i have come up with some cracking deals. This is my apology to you. They are nowhere near as good as the Amazon deals but a challenge you to find anything that gets close (i know that this is the exact point that you Bargainers send your minions out to find them!) that isn't stolen

The Duracell Procell i have are the brand new General Purpose. They have been upgraded and I tested it to confirm that it wasn't a "marketing" upgrade.

Disclaimer: Varta High Energy and Varta Energy sold at Bunnings are not the same product! The test on whatcell only compares them in one discharge range and does not test them at a higher discharge rate. We are doing this test ourselves after we finish testing the current Procell intense and then i will post my findings.

    IMPORTANT:
    - The products are in this category and they are specific just for this promotion and are not able to be found in search: https://batteryspecialists.com.au/other-products/ozbargain.h…
    - Do not add other products outside of this category to the cart, the shipping calculator wont work and you will not have and shipping methods displayed!
    - If you want to order something else that isnt in that category you will place a seperate order or contact me directly and i will need to put it through manually for you.

These are going until next Friday only!

    Standard Post: $8.94
    Express Post: $12.65

Duracell Procell Industrial AA or AAA Box of 24 - $9.24
Energizer Industrial AA Box of 24 - $9.24
Energizer Lithium AA Pack of 8 - $19.36
Varta High Energy AA or AAA Box of 24 - $7.92

Test Data on the new Procell General Purpose outperforms all of the batteries tested (Energizer, Duracell, Varta, Fujitsu, The old Procell), i will provide this information shortly.
