COVID-19 Deals which promote self-isolation?

My local coffee bean supplier is offering 20% off beans to encourage people to brew from home.

I suspect that we will start seeing more deals which encourage people to self isolate.

Would be great to get feedback from everyone on whether a seperate thread should be created for special deals which encourage self isolation (but which are also a bargain!).

Let’s not encourage panick buying. Let’s promote deals which encourage making smart purchases which promote self isolation.

EDIT: alright so much for that, it looks like everyone is stocking up on lube and watching porn..

Pornhub is doing their part in promoting self-isolation by issuing free premium to all of Italy.

I prefer deals that promote self-immolation. It's the best way to make sure the virus doesn't spread.

I hear Tibet is practicing that.

      • China is practicing that*

Tibet belongs to China. Just like Australia.

  • I saw a deal for iPhone XS for $199 for a 12 month Telstra Contract. Does that count? You can stay at home and make Tik Tok videos instead of actually being social.

NO. your local bean supplier is selling stock at a discount because his regular cohort isn't buying as much, and has excess stock

This is true, but its a pre-emptive move that also encourages people to brew at home, and it prevents their beans from going stale. Win-win situation for both parties involved.

  • Telstra and Optus are both increasing their data allowances:

    • Telstra broadband users will be able to access unlimited downloads from this Thursday until April 30.
    • Telstra postpaid mobile customers will also be given an extra 25GB data allowance if they apply for it within the Telstra 24x7 app by the end of March.
    • some prepaid customers can access an extra 10GB.
    • Pensioners with a Telstra landline phone will also be granted free local, national and 1300 number calls between Thursday and the end of April

    • Optus is giving its postpaid smartphone users access to an extra 20GB of data during April, and 10GB for prepaid users.

I wonder if they've teamed up with Pornhub.

    • How much data do you actually need to watch porn? I use about probably 2mb per session.

      • Normally 0mb. This week was the exception as I had to do some research for @tshow.

        • He doesnt watch porn. He goes to supermarket instead. That's how he does his stuff.

Can I have more info/link about this pls

    Hey Guys,

I'm a restaurant owner and we are in a pretty shitty place, the restaurant and hospitality industry that is so core to Australian culture is well and truly endangered.
We are working with bringing restaurants and their suppliers online with our initiative https://pokemart.com.au/. If interested please check it out!

    • You should post this as a separate deal. Looks great. Hope it works out well for you guys and gets you through

      • Agreed. This is a great idea.
