Any deal on the GOOLOO 2000A?

  • -4

hmm I am not sure if I want to use that as a power bank. not eager to get 800A through my iPhone all a sudden

    • That's not how it works - the 800A is for jump-starting a vehicle while it will deliver a standard charging current to your iPhone or other USB connected device.

        • +8

It can output up to 800A. Current draw depends on the connected device, it's not "pushed out" by the battery.

How often do you need to charge these? e.g what is the power leakage on these over time?

    • +2

I've had one for a bit over a year, used it a few times and usually top it up when I'm done. It sat on the shelf for about 6 months and lost 1 light (20%?). Used it on a V8 no problem, it went down another 20%.

If it's sitting in your boot/glovebox I'd check it twice a year but it could probably go a year and still have enough juice to start the average car.

      • I think you can top it up with the car charger.

      • Used it a few times? Do you have a habit of leaving your lights on or is there something wrong with your car? Or do you help people on the side of the road? We have 3 cars and over the past 2 years, have only needed a jump start once?

Guess I’m not helping anyone on the side of the road…

        • I've got one car that just sits in the garage collecting dust. I should put a trickle charger on it but haven't bothered yet.

Despite my numerous requests they still haven't included a more suitable nipple attachment.

    • at this current does it really matter

    • What's your reasoning for wanting it changed?

      • Big nipples?

      • +1

        They keep slipping off.

        • Oh, you want bigger alligator clips? I was confused by "nipple attachment" thinking you meant the plug or something.
They are a little small but no issues here and I have heaps of stuff hanging off my positive terminal.

If you're erring on the side of caution, buy it! It's saved myself and many others a ton of pain.

Yes Please - can we have a deal on the Gooloo 2000A?
There has been some sharp pricing on Noco Jump Starters (-20%) from Auto8 on ebayAUS, but now all sold out…

    • The 2000A deal just finished last week.

  • Woke up to a flat battery this morning haha. Not sure if I can justify $75 vs just asking a neighbour for help though. Guess it would save a bit of time, so if you've got money to burn it's worth it?

  • so, dead flat battery on the car, plug this in, how long do I wait , is it instant?

    • Yep. If it's dead as a door knob, there is a little boost button on the plug. Kicks over my V8 no issues at all.

  • +1

Just bought one. Looks like a good purchase. Thanks OP

  • This is a jump starter - not a battery charger. You will get an "instant" jump start. I think the manufacturer recommends that you disconnect the device from the battery no longer than 30 seconds after jump-starting the engine.

How did I miss the 2000A deal last week??

  • Can I trickle charge with these to 12.1v to keep my dash cam on?

    • +1

      No. Jump start only.

  • Great starter! No trouble starting a Grand Vitara (2.4) from completely flat (sitting for a month). Just managed to start my Aurion (3.5 V6) from fully flat when cold after the alarm drained the battery, but wasn't as convincing.

    • +1

Did you press the boost button? It cranks my 5.7L supercharged V8 over no worries at all after it's been sitting for 5-6 months (around 9V on the car battery lol)

      • Thanks, I might do that! I remember pressing boost on the GV as that was completely dead and wouldn't do anything, but can't recall pressing it on the Aurion (had a bit of voltage left).

May give it a try with boost and report back.

  • Can anyone confirm if it ships with an Aus plug?

    • +1

      Mine did.

      • Thank you

  • Complete noob here, does it matter in which order I plug the clips to the terminals?

    • No…you can connect them and then turn the power pack on.

  • Any deal on 4000A?
    Thanx

  • Does anyone know what the dc power pin style plug on the power pack is for it says 12v 10amp output ? But there is no corresponding cord

It almost needs a cable like this https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/DC-power-cable-2-5mm-… ? 12v dc male to male?

    • Depends what you want to run off it.
Since most 12V stuff is designed to operate from cigarette lighter sockets, they sell this as a separate product: https://www.amazon.com.au/GOOLOO-Cigarette-Lighter-Adaptor-C…

But you could probably find the same thing for cheaper than $20, it's just directly wired with no internal circuitry.
