How can it be isolation when it's (I'm guessing) communal aircon?? Isn't that why it spread like crazy on cruise ships when passengers were in "isolation".

Also, you're screwed if the person making your meals is contagious.

    • when people are paying and praying to get off passenger cruises ship, this pops up >.<

With that mindset, you are screwed, no matter what. What happens if the virus is in your groceries or on surfaces you touch when you step outside to get anything? Most take-away joints should be shut down on that principle.

What happens if the virus is in your groceries

I wipe down all my groceries when I get home with wipes whilst wearing gloves. Have been for weeks.

surfaces you touch when you step outside to get anything?

Hand sanitizer. Gloves for high risk surfaces like petrol pumps.

I have a love one with a compromised immune system. But really, this is just common sense.

Most take-away joints should be shut down on that principle.

        They probably should.

        • Good… Now convince those incompetent politicians

    • Wouldn't the AC side of things be no different to an apartment building?

      • In apartments, each unit would have its own system wouldn’t it? Not central.

You obviously have not idea how aircon works in hotels, each room has its own air, the only shared resource is cooled water, there is no air shared between rooms other than natural air flow

  • Plus the room cost starting at $175 per night.

Say what you want but Emporium is classy and Tom Hanks did stay in it.

It's good for essential health personnel and the elderly though. Notice I did not say pensioners as it can get pricey for longer stays.

      • I really like the Emporium. I try and stay there every time I'm in Brisbane

    • Edit: Duplicate Comment.

Social distancing in public means people:

    • stay at home unless is absolutely necessary

Can we just try that, otherwise infection rates aren't going trend down.

This is for returning Australians doing mandatory isolation. Some are not able to be go home as they stay with family members/house mates.

It might be labelled an isolation package, but that doesn't mean it is restricted to returning Australian.
Indications are that overseas travellers will have accommodation and meals provided, although I'm not sure that everyone will be happy with this statement:

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews said people would be quarantined in hotels, motels, caravan parks, and student accommodation.

  • Better make the most of that free valet parking while in isolation

  • stay somewhere with balcony or windows can open for ventilation.
