AdGuard Free License for Three Months

200

Got an email from Adguard for three months free. Great product, great company. I actually enjoy their email bulletins.
The Android client is very, very good. The windows full client is also good, but on my (slow) PC, I find the free Chrome extension is faster.

If you have root Adaway is free and uses no resources to block beyond HOSTS.

    • I need a solution that doesn't require root and free, and on top of that be able to use my own VPN service.

Haven't found anything. If rooted plenty of options. I see no point of rooting these days you won't get it to work with bank apps and Opal.

Sure you can hide root, but the bank apps keeps changing to find you are rooted.

Wait, what? You have to pay this company to block ads? Just download adblocker or install pi hole.

    • For the uninitiated, you can run pihole on almost anything.

INCLUDING your own PC, in a tiny, tiny VM.

If you set your primary DNS to pihole, and your secondary DNS to, say, google; then your internet will still work if you shut down your PC/VM and try to use your phone.

Pihole should be on everyones list.

      • Great for those also that have raspberry pi lying around from one of the many deals.

        • Haha, I love the TISM avatar.
Yes, my PiHole runs on a Rpi Version 1B; I chose it because it only consumes 200mAh, so it runs off the USB port on my router :)

      • I dunno why I have not done this yet. I run a Plex server 24/7 and have several Linux VMs. Definitely gonna make a new one for pi hole

        • Currently running mine on a Synology NAS.

  • Blockada.org is the way to go.

Just leads to an adware redirect loop.

  • I run the beta version on android and its free. But i find i have to pause it for alot of things and i still get ads in apps when its enabled

I use adguard DNS servers on my router and Android 9+ devices

    https://kb.adguard.com/en/dns/setup-guide

Free, zero resource usage. Not configurable as such but works great for me with very minimal issues overall. Blocks ads in apps also.

  • I use pfsense, decent.. a little annoying to set up but will block pretty much all ads

  • Haven't got the free key yet just rial expiring soon no key
