Pioneer AVH-Z2250BT 6.2 Inch Apple Carplay Headunit - $276.50 (Free C&C or + $9.90 Shipping) (RRP $650) @ Repco

290

Great price on a CarPlay device. As far as I know, this is the lowest price ever for it. Please note that this unit does not have Android Auto.

Some details from the website:
Connect to Apple Carplay via the AV-H2250BT's USB port for a smart safe way to control your iPhone while driving. The AVH-Z2250BT allows iPhone control by voice (SIRI) or touch screen.

The AVH-Z2250BT can pair 2 x phones (Apple or Android) at the same time. It automatically switches between phones for incoming calls. Spotify full control works over Bluetooth for Android and Bluetooth or USB cable for iPhone. The USB input on the AVH-Z2250BT allows you to charge and control the music playback on connected music sources.

The AVH-Z2250BT's DVD player plays both DVD & CD's. Add the Pioneer RCAM2 Reverse Camera (sold separately) for a complete reversing solution. The AVH-Z2250BT's 3 x 4 Volt Pre outs and 4 x 50W built in Amplifier make connecting Speakers and Sub Woofers simple.

  • Nice. Any tips on when I can find a guide to installing into a 2014 Hyundai i30?

    • +3

It shouldn’t be too hard of a job if you get the Aerpro harnesses. Make sure you get the ones from the headunit to ISO and the ISO adapters for your vehicle. Check Aerpro’s website for what exactly is needed for the installation.

      • Thanks for the tip.

I'm more concerned about linking to the current steering wheel controls and also the reversing camera.

Will talk a look at Aerpro.

      • What about a ZRE152R !?

        • The above was general advice which applies to any car & headunit combo. On their website, you can put in your car & headunit make and model and you'll get a list of what you'll need to buy for the installation.

There's a small bunch of very helpful people over there, so they should be able to help you out!

    • I did this mod https://www.i30ownersclub.com/forum/index.php?topic=45851.0 to my parents i30, can't recall what year there i30 was but it was not too difficult a job. I added a reverse camera as well which was a bit painful mainly due to runing wires through the interior through the hatch. The GD03 units are a bit cheaper (but second hand) but also designed to fit so it looks factory when you are done.

    Thanks for mentioning Android Auto.
Would have picked it up at this price if it came with!

  • I have a top of the line pioneer deck (AVIC) and have no end of trouble with carplay. Dropping in and out all the time.

    • Is it not covered under warranty?

    • Wireless or wired?

  • Any similar headunits that are single DIN?

I have a generic android Joying unit which i'm about to install, but would prefer to go for a known brand using Android Auto…

    • I haven't come across single din units that support CarPlay or Android Auto. Have a look at Repco's website, they have an extra 30% on clearance items.

      • Alpine and Sony have single DIN players with pop up screens. Expensive but.

  • Will this fit Prado Series 95?

    • I think it should fit easily if you have a double din. Check https://aerpro.com to see what's needed to fit the headunit to your Prado.

  • Does it come with harness and have Wi Fi if not have to plug phone in, a pain.

    • Not sure if it has WiFi support, but it has bluetooth support for up to 2 phones simultaneously. If you're asking about Wireless CarPlay, then no it doesn't. Wireless CarPlay is only available on the top of the range units.

    • You pay at least double this price for wireless carplay. New models with longer support though I expect.

  • I would love to upgrade the headunit in my mazda (cd player stopped working long ago)..
sadly the dash kit is over $700, and I cant justify spending over $1000 on a car that probably isnt worth much more then that.

    • I'm thinking of visiting a wrecker yard (when allowed). Look for the same model with a higher trim. should me much cheaper than buying new.

  • do these have maps built in, or is it only if you have a phone connected?

    • +1

Through your phone's map applications. Apple Maps, Google Maps and Waze are all CarPlay compatible.

  • +1

How much should I expect to pay to get this professionally fitted? Technically, that's my total cost!

  • Trying my luck here.
I brought this head unit thinking an weekend upgrade project to my wife's hrv
Apart of that I also take suggestion by getting all the required harness for this heatunit from aerpro.com

However, when dissembled trying to plug things in turn out the adapter is not compatible with harness which was suggestioned
    What I have so far

My car model is honda hrv 2017 model
    - Pioneer AVH-Z2250BT
    - APP9PIO8
    - APA79
    - Pioneer RCAM2 Reverse Camera

Can anyone advice if I missing some harness or something else?

    • Not sure why Honda left out the HRV from the CarPlay/Android Auto upgrade. It's the reason I went with a Civic instead.

Not to digress, it seems you need a fascia kit as suggested by Aerpro. Also, are you sure you didn't get APP8PIO8, as this is what you need for this headunit model. Apart from that, all looks good. When you unplugged your factory stereo, did you have 2 plugs (a brown and a black coloured one)?

      • I got APP9PIO8 which is APP8PIO8 with APPIOPL.
Didnt find any plug for APPIOPL though.

The factory headset had 4 plugs all together GPS, REAR, Radio and power.
so under the impression i got the wrong harness.

        • What were the colours of the plugs from your factory stereo?

Didthe APP9PIO8 plug in ok to your Pioneer headunit?

          • @maburu1: The plugs are all gray(power and rear) and white(gps and radio)…

APP9PIO8 plug in the Pioneer alright.

            • @JunCh3n: Check if you’ll need a vehicle to ISO harness.

              • @maburu1: That’s what I thought as well, but no luck finding harness with the right fit.

                • @JunCh3n: I found this: https://www.hrvforum.com/threads/2016-2018-hr-v-aftermarket-…

Sounds like a quite complicated installation!

                  • @maburu1: Yea, scared me for a bit when I found that.

                    • @JunCh3n: Hey mate - how did you go with this? If you’re looking to sell the head unit I’m happy to buy. Let me know. Cheers.

                      • @ccrap: I think i need to seek professional on this, happy with hrv over all, but head unit is really a pain.
I really want this to work, would let you know if this will not be compatible with my hrv model.

                        • @JunCh3n: sure no worries mate. Not sure if you're in Sydney but you could try the Bankstown sound guys that often post head units for sale on OzB. I'm sure they could give you proper guidance and a quote on how much it would cost/ how to go about it. If that doesn't work out feel free to reach out to me for a quick sale.
