    Thank you!

I need potions and revives though.

For catchers, this game is 'free', for battlers, we end up struggling :p

Things should auto-heal after a week or a fortnight or something.

    • +3

Spin Gyms for higher chance of Potions and Revives.

  • best time to be out and about to catch em all.

    • +8

Yup. Single player game that encourages exercise.

Ive been out every night at my local park with 4 stops.

5-10 People are out every night, all of them completely socially distanced, but yelling things to each other.

      Very healthy game right now.

    • +3

They've increased the spawn rate so even at home should be good enough.

  • +11

Officer: do you know there are lock down laws in place?
Nerd: but I need to catch these pokemon.
Officer: here, catch this $11,000 fine.

    • +1

Being out by yourself is legal for exercise.

      • +1

        They closed my pokegym.

      • -3

Not in NSW it isn’t anymore.

        • +1

          Really?

From 31 March 2020, you must stay at home, unless you are going to
-work and education, where you can’t work remotely
          -shop for food and essentials
-medical needs or the care of others
          -exercise.

@MasterScythe: Oh, we're counting chasing Pokemon as exercise now. I agree it is, but try convincing the cops of that when they see you face down on your phone.

            • @cnut: Isn't it a Sport? E-Sport.

    • I'm glad my Territory hasn't hit that martial law vibe just yet..

  • +2

The $1 Incense deal was the best so far. You can't go randomly spinning those up.

    • +2

That was 1 coin, even cheaper than $1

      • Yep sorry my bad. 1 uhh, Pokemon dollar :P

Which at this rate of inflation might be worth more than an Aussie dollar soon /s

  • +3

Just so all the people who don't play get it - this is literally in response to measures put in to the game to limit the need to leave the house. The balls are being given essentially for free in lieu of needing to go out and get them yourself.

    • +6

Why do you do anything that you enjoy?

      • You still love it, or a bit addicted? Legit curious.

        • It's genuine fun. I can go weeks without playing it, but it's still super cool to go and stroll through the city or parks with mates (or one mate now) having a good chat, while also building a party to battle your mates later.

        • Heaps of reasons, but I still genuinely have fun with it as a day 1 player. Honestly it's been the sole reason the mrs and I have left the house with nothing better to do so many times! I've also recently moved to an area with an extremely active community so can tackle the top tier raids no worries. Pokemon has always been my jam, and I feel like Niantic has definitely managed to keep the new features & regular events rolling in to keep me interested.

    • +1

Because it keeps evolving and adding new features.
The player battles are super fun.

Also, because I haven't completed it yet.

    • +1

      Why not?

    • -1

      Addiction.

    • People tend to be believe the game is dead After a few months of its launch, however they posted billions of dollars in revenue (or profit) last year. Even their recent money grabbing event to get a genesect where you had to pay like $15 or what ever for was still jaded about 10 mill in one day on the google store. The game has gone down since it’s launch but I think it is just normalised and stayed quite consistent since and for a game to last this long and still go this strong is quite an achievement to the point it made first party devs take the mobile route.

Or this game have too many whales….

  • Prof Elm gave me a master ball

  • +2

I work on a pokestop and live on a gym. Can't complain about a heap of great balls. The spawn rate is very high!

    • +2

      The dream! Haha

      • +1

Been accused of spoofing on multiple occasions for taking that gym all the time.

  • +2

For anyone who's up for being OzB-initiated PokeGo friends, I'm keen! Am pretty active with gifts too, so we may as well exchange items & get extra XP (:

    • +2

tempted to agree, are we going to go around posting all microtransaction discounts for every game?

    • Unpopular and unnecessary opinion?
      Yes

    • I think going to far as to call it a bailout is a bit much, but I think digital microtransactions should definitely not be posted as deals. Maybe they should have a forum or something. Especially a "deal" this dull. I haven't played in a while but those balls were basically free and widely available.

    • +1

I agree in theory; but when an in game transaction drops more than 10x it's original value? I don't really mind.
I see tons of things I don't do on here, I just scroll past them.

  • I don't think catching pokemon would be considered "essential"

    • No, but that comes down to 'the idiot test' doesn't it?
      "What are you doing son?"
"Walking, getting some exercise and fresh air"
"OK, remember to do it alone, or only with 1 other"
      No conflict.

      But if you reply
"Playing a video game" or some such? Well, yeah…. It's going to be questioned.

      • Isn't it a sport? E-Sport.

  • https://nianticlabs.com/blog/stay-safe/ theyre also going to let ppl raid from home.

  • How to earn 1 PokéCoin or co$t?

    • You can purchase 100 PokéCoin for $1 or leave your Pokemon defending in a Gym for at least 10min.

    • Defending a gym is easiest.
If you go out at midnight and place 10 or 20 pokemon on gyms, you'll wake up with 100 coins easy.

      • Isn't the max coins per day 50 from gym?

        • Max coins is 50 per gym, I'm pretty sure; if you hold it over 24hrs.

But I could be entirely wrong; there are literally exactly 5 gyms within a 15 minute drive from me, so I've never capped more than 50 in one go anyway.

          • +2

@MasterScythe: 50 per day regardless of total gyms. I miss the old days of 100 coins a day.

  • I tried buying these earlier but got an error message saying my bag was full. It isn't, I only have 1998 items.

    • You'll need the 50 bag storage for the ability to purchase the deal.
