    Pics?

    Have you tried another cable?

    Has it ever worked?

Maybe the LAN port is disabled?

    i tryed two different cables

it has worked i have been using my apple tv thru that same ethernet jack for 2 years

thanks that worked got into bios. and the onboard LAN controllet is enabled so its not that

  • tryed that too, nothing. i even have the ethernet cable going straight from wall jack to the pc. just keeps saying Network cable unplugged.

    • Good heavens, your Keyboard must be intermittent, you finally typed a Capital

      Network

      🤦‍♂️

  • Can you post a picture of the Ethernet Splitter you spoke of? Not sure what one of those is.

    • its not the splitter. i even plugged wire directly into ethernet jack and other end into pc still wont work

      • Splitters come in pairs - one at each end of the cable that you're splitting. You need to remove both of them.

Also, were you aware that splitters can't be used on gigabit ethernet (because gigabit uses all eight wires), only on 10/100 (which only use four of the eight wires).

As cjbowden asked, can you post a picture of the splitter?

Or is it possible that what you're calling a splitter is in fact an ethernet switch?

  • thing pissed me off so much only got three hours of sleel before having to go to work lol, im thinking of just grabbing one of those wifi adaptors like the netgear nighthawk A7000 from officeworks

  • not enough sleep, it was a typo lol

  • just got my hands on a pc

Drivers all up to date? Downloaded the MSI tool to update them all?

Is it a new build or a secondhand pc?

  • new build from techfast

only msi tool it has is afterburner

  • You should try temporarily plugging the PC directly into your router to see if that fixes the problem. Preferably into a port on your router that you know works, and with a patch cable that you know works.

  • Try the water trick to flush it out. Get a water pistol (or spray gun) and squirt it up the ethernet port to clear out any blockages.

  • Go to the lan port adapter settings either via device manager or the change adapter settings in the network section. Go into properties and click to Change properties of "TCP IP" properties.

Make sure there is no up address set in the and is on auto. Also do the same for DNS… Ensure no numbers..

This is of course if your router is act as your DHCP Server.

Also ensure the adapter is actually enabled
