  • 500Mhz CPU is gonna be slow as hell

    • 500mhz is often quite reasonable for iGO

The issue here is I'm unsure if this shop is selling legit software with their GPS's.

Its not hard to order a blank chinese GPS from China and put some GPS software and maps on there…

      • thats true

4.3" gps often run 266-333mhz processors so 500mhz is fast

legit software or not you cant be expecting much in the way of upgrades if the gps company doesn't even have a website

you can always put your own software on it if you wish

        • We buy them from an Australian Distributor and they are Legit

  • Hi handelbert, what's the resolution of the screen?

  • hmmm tempting

  • Is this the most up to date map?
Also does it support future updates?
From a quick google search, iogear isn't a genuine product, samfisher might be correct.
But hey, a blank GPS that means we can boot it with our fav nav software next time!

    • Yes, It does support future updates which need to be downloaded from the NET.

These things are selling oout fast and we only ahve about 20 left out of a few hundred. Tobuys was selling the same unit for $199 recently without Philips Headset which makes ours insane value. :)

  • Is it possible to get one with Europe map on it? Thanks.

  • anyone knows if the receiver is better? a little more specific and you got yourself a customer :D

    • Sorry, I'm a bit slow today. did not understand your question about receiver

  • The map is up to date or how can customer update the map?

Search on the google, this brand has been sale in OZ couple years.

If the map is not update, that is lemon.

  • Handelbert, as others have asked, does this have the most current map installed, or is the most current map a free download?
If the installed map is already a few years old, and there is no current map guarentee, then not such a bargain..

    • It seems quite recent, but I am not sure what the latest update is. It does say it is updatable and comes with PC cable, car mount etc

      • I realise it is updateable, but if the installed map is already a few years old, then paying $x immediately makes it less of a bargain.

  • What chipset does the Gps use?
