  • What's the normal price?

    • +1

      $9.99
so technically not a bargain, but not bad considering.
      C&C from 14th april

      • +3

And its from a social enterprise company helping others. And you have the option to donate $2 to the smith family at checkout.

        • -3

No thanks, I ain't donating and financing any more western sects/cults/religious mobs that gather money and ONLY distribute it to their blessed/Chosen ones. I feel so sorry for all of those people that donated to Smith, vinnis, salvation army, Red Cross, unicef etc. During the bushfires, majority of the donations will never see any of the people. And those that do go somewhere will go to the ones that are connected to these sect freaks hiding behind smoke screens of being just innocent channels from donators to the ones in need….yeah,aha,innocent. By the way, they have the right by law apparently to keep 10% for themselves? Administration fees πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ do you want me to go into figures how much 10% is just from this bushfires?

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ say NO! to charities and donations! Want to help? Do something yourself, don't be lazy throwing money to these phonies.

          • @drazenm: I totally agree. There are so many charities that one would expect there would be no problems at all in the society.

Charities are the smartest business model to make profit without producing any goods or services in today's capitalism.

        • +1

While drazenm's tirade below is a little extreme, I understand where he is coming from. A lot of these charities/social enterprises make it seem like they solely exist to benefit the disadvantaged, and in return for purchasing from them, the consumer fairly expects that only a reasonable cut of sales would go to operational expenses. In FY18-19, Thankyou Group only paid 48% of its profits to charity (profit is AFTER operational expenses). In addition, it also spent "$340,000 on travel and entertainment, and $4.56 million on fewer than 50 staff." So if they had 50 staff, that means an AVERAGE salary of $91K!

          See: https://www.news.com.au/finance/business/retail/financial-st…

This is not to say that their products are bad - in fact, quite the opposite - they make good products. But your decision to buy from them should probably only be made based on quality, rather than charity.

Lots of people buying antibacterial sanitiser, when Covid is a virus.

    • +8

Contains 60% ethanol so does the required job…

      • As long as you leave it for the 30ish seconds to dry.

      • Doesn't it need to be atleast 70% alcohol to kill the virus?

        • No

        • I think I read it is based on the alcohol within the sanitiser..

60% for ethanol and 70% for isopropyl

        • +4

70% w/v is best, in our lab we have tested this on vaccinia and hsv, both have capsids.

          • +2

@Fred: Could you mix with methylated spirits (95% ethanol and no methanol) with this to increase to ~70%. It would make it a little watery but it would strengthen it and also increase the volume of hand sanitiser by ~40%…. if you can get the methylated spirits

            • @bean_counter: I would not use methanol because of its toxicity.

              • +2

@Fred: They’re still called methylated spirits these days but many of them use other alcohol denaturants like isopropanol, mek or bitrex. So read the ingredients/msds for the specific product.

                • +1

                  @iSamurai:

These should be fine to use on surfaces, but would not trust these for a skin based sanitiser.

              • +3

@Fred: Agree, but question was about methylated spirits NOT containing methanol e.g. Diggers, which according to MSDS is >= 95% ethanol and <= 5% demineralised water

        • It says on thank you website, Contains >60% %alcohol. So it contains greater than 60%.
And it's made in Australia so should be legit.
Hand sanitizers need to be between 60% and 70% percent.
Also I ordered 2 this morning deliver to gc and it made it here at 4pm today.

Now who knows where to get masks from? Without making a evil hoarder rich.

      • Anything over 60% ethanol is classified as a class 3 dangerous good for shipping purposes. 60% they can avoid a massive headache when shipping (no forms to fill out or extra costs)

            @keejoonc: Soooo angry

            • -1

@michaelTito: And how did you arrive at that conclusion? Looking at this thread just demonstrates how Australia is panic buying like bunch of idiots.

              • @keejoonc: Came to the conclusion by reading your comment.

                • -1

@michaelTito: Pointing out the fact that someone can't spell equates to being angry?
Your logic is as crazy as those panic buying stuff they don't need.

                  • +2

@keejoonc: Bad day? Hang in there. it will be better tomorrow.

                    • -1

@michaelTito: Nope perfectly fine. Have a well paying job that is secure and don't feel the need to panic buy that's all.

                      • @keejoonc: That's good bro. Try not to get angry too often. Health is also important.

                        • -1

@michaelTito: Shame your advice is useless since I'm not angry at all.

                          • @keejoonc: It's alright buddy. We all been there. Take it easy.

                            • @michaelTito: Seems like you need to take it easy mate. Someone is agitated.

                              • @keejoonc: Haha alot of people seems to think you're upset. See comment from click it. It's alright mate tomorrow will be a better day I hope. If you need to talk we are here for you

                                • @michaelTito: Haha you are the one who was angry enough to reply to a comment I posted. Feel free to think whatever you want. Fact remains. Ciao.

                                  • @keejoonc: Haha it's OK to be denial you know and it's OK to be angry sometime. We won't judge I promise. It's good Friday so chill a little and you will be happier.

                      • @keejoonc:

Have a well paying job that is secure

yeah mate, rub it into all your fellow aussies that have lost their jobs and doing it tough golf clap

                        • -2

@vietbargain: Where did I rub it in? Talk about feeling insecure about yourself.

          • @keejoonc:

Oh the irony coming from someone who can't even spell.

The term used commonly to poke fun at someone, this is emphasised with the intentional mispronounciation of the word "educated"

Lighten up buddy, we're all friends here.

            • @Click_It: I really think he had a bad day. He won't admit it but I hope his day gets better tomorrow.

              • +2

@michaelTito: He's only human. Friday will definitely cheer him up :)

                • -1

@Click_It: If the two of you being all warm and nice to each other makes the day better for you, good for you lol

            • -1

@Click_It: God I hate people who say "Lighten up". It's the type of people who think being careless and stupid is same as being down to earth. No thanks.

        • What?

      • +2

OK my bad but so what? Still wouldnt pay this ridiculous price when I paid 15 bucks for 1L.

I don't even understand why people go through so much hand sanitiser TBH. You should only use it when you are unable to wash your hands with water and soap/handwash. Given you should be going out unless necessary, I hardly use it except for when I got grocery shopping.

        • +3

I have a 2 weeks old baby and I am constantly picking him up, changing nappies etc. so it makes it harder if I keep washing my hands (which I am doing anyway and he hates my cold hands) every few minutes. This sanitizer will definitely make it bit easier. It's unfortunate enough that there are people hoarding these while others that genuinely need it, don't have any stock. Though this may not historically be the best price, at least it's in stock and at a reasonable cost compared with few other deals.

PS: May the guys selling sanitizers and other items at a much higher price on Ebay rot in hell. I report many listings on daily basis.

        • +2

I have a business and we're asking all customers who enter to sanitise their hands at the front door. Washing hands isn't practical in this situation.

The cost sucks, but some of us need the sanitiser to operate.

          • +1

@nse: We go through about 3 to 5 litre a week for our business. Lucky we can still get them for decent price of else we will have to shut the door.

  • +2

I think it is outta stock? Could not finalise my order.

  • Managed to get 50ml hand sanitiser from Woolworths yesterday for $3.5 each, so this deal is cheaper than what I was able to get from Woolies.

  • +2

Good to see prices coming down.. This deal is better than the Super Pharmacy deal posted last night.

  • +1

anyone has trouble finishing the order? here's the solution, if you keep seeing the "max. unit" error, either:

    • go to your cart and the 2 items should be there waiting for checkout
    • if you don't see them, go back to homepage, search the item, and "add to cart" from the homepage, not the item page. then they should be in your cart
    • Thx that work and thx to op for post

  • Great finally got one.

    Looks like its gone!
