[Mod: No Longer Available] Vodafone - Free Mobile Broadband for 4 Months - 1.5GB Per Month No Contract

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Mod: This has been moved to the forum. OP states:

The company concerned has told me that I must remove the post as they will only do referrals for personal friends and that you are apparently not allowed to put posts like this up. Doesn't make sense to me as they get new business out of it but someone high up obviously got a bee in their bonnet! As I said I joined up on a good deal and have been a loyal customer for years so don't know why they don't want deals posted on a forum if it means more business. Anyway I don't want to incur any dramas or get anyone else in trouble so that is why I have deleted it

I am a current Vodafone customer and I received a call today from the consultant saying that they have a special offer until the end of the day tomorrow. They are offering 4 months free mobile broadband access with a free USB modem. It is 1.5GB per month of data. At the end of the 4 months you can end the plan and are under no obligation to continue with it but get to keep the modem. The offer comes with a normal sim but you can take it into a Vodafone store and get a micro sim to fit in an iPad2. If you did want to continue the plan is $15 per month for 1.5GB. Obviously they want to get this out to as many people as possible so offered me a referral credit for anyone that I referred. If you are interested please let me know.

Another SEPARATE deal is - She said that they are also offering 4 months free to anyone who signs up to a 12 or 24 mth phone contract (ie sign up to a 12 or 24 month phone contract and get 4 months of that contract free). Again I get a referral credit for this if I refer anyone.

You do not need to sign up for a phone contract to get the mobile broadband deal.

**** EDIT 8am 16 SEPT *** Heaps of people have contacted me about this and I suspect Vodafone has a limit on the number of referral credits they can hand out - I am still happy to refer people to the rep for this deal however I doubt I will get any more referral credits so cannot offer anyone else 50% of the referral credit as I won't be getting any more ******

Why should everyone have to contact you to get the deal? Your link goes to a useless page

  • ok. how can you refer me ?

    • Ditto :)
      I am a current Vodafone customer though…
Also to clarify, get 4 months of 1.5gb for free + free USB modem + $50 (50/50 referral)? Sounds awesome :)
Someone is trying to meet quota :P

  • -2

"anyone who signs up to a 12 or 24 mth phone contract"

    • +2

that is a different deal to the main 4 months free offer

      • +2

        separate deal according to OP

  • The link is to the INQ Cloud touch which Vodafone has just reduced to $89 on prepaid which you can then sign up to a sim only plan for $20 a month. A cheap way to get an Android phone with GPS, Wi-Fi and capacitive touchscreen. The consultant said that anyone wanting the deal has to contact her and if I refer anyone to her I get a referral credit on my account. The referral credit is $100 and I am happy to share that 50/50 with anyone that signs up.

    • ….

    • hi arielleann, i called vodafone and the rep dont know about the deal, could you send me the email or refer me . how this going to be work

      • +1

It is only for specific reps. I am not allowed to put her details on any forums. If you send me an email to [email protected] with your email address and name I will then do the referral to her and give you her details

  • -1

not a bad deal, but leave it up to the individual as to whether or not they want to give you the referral. Add details on how to credit you with the referral (if so inclined) and also how to take advantage of this deal either way.
Otherwise its jus you advertising for vodafone in return for "referral credit".

  • would this work with a CM7 rooted optus mytab?

    • My understanding is the mytab's network lock is in the firmware, so if you root it and put CM7 on, then there's no more network lock. So you should be able to use this fine, although you might have to do some googling to find out how to set the right APN for vodafone.

  • +1

If people want to go to Vodafone directly for the deal I am more than happy for them to do that. As I said though if anyone does want to mention my name and I get the referral credit I am more than happy to send them $50 when I get the referral credit.

  • It should state in the title that you have to sign up to a contract first!

  • The free internet deal is not connected to the phone deal - it is separate. I assume that they are hoping that after 4 months you keep using them and don't disconnect.

    • if i sign up with the free internet deal, do you still get free referral credit? or you only get referral credit if someone sign up for plan?

  • @ ariel : then please enable your setting so people can send you email. or you can contact me (click my user name) and choose contact member.

  • +2

OK I have just enabled my settings so that people can send me an email. Sorry I am new to this - please go easy on me - I have only ever posted a few times before - most of the time I find out about deals through OzBargain and am not the one finding the deal!
@ heathcouter - I don't know too much about the Optus mytab - is it locked to Optus? If so then it would need to be unlocked before you would be able to put a Vodafone sim in it. They also have an offer of a pocket wifi for $3.33 per mth on a 12 mth contract with the first 4 mths free, but to get this you would also need to sign up to a phone plan as the pocket wi fi offer can only be bought with a phone plan

  • what about the $84 moneybackco credit? is that for the plan or the modem/data?

  • +8

Unless this is a publicly available offer that you can provide details of without having to contact you to sign up, I don't think it belongs here.

    • +2

      i concur…

      • Should be in the forum.

    • bargain still bargain well this is maybe belong to "free" even better than bargain, you get free modem and 4months data each 1.5gb.

      • +3

Unless the bargain is publicly available, then no, it's not a bargain at all.

        • for certain people this is not a bargain, but for me it is.

        • for certain people this is not a bargain, but for me it is.

    • +2

      agree

  • +3

    fail deal.

  • how to get the deal? must go to the Vodafone store or can be done online?

    • -5

you can only get this deal by contact the dodgy OP

  • +6

just called vodafone, they said there no such offer at the moment.

  • The offer does not show on the Vodafone website. Individual teams get certain offers they can offer customers - I assume it is when their sales are down and they need to get their quota. They contact their customers and try to get them (in this case me) to distribute the deal out. It's just marketing - I signed up to a similar offer a few years ago and have been a Vodafone customer ever since. It is just a way they use to get new customers.

    • +5

So give us the contact at vodafone so we can confirm the deal, because it looks way sus.

    • +4

u smell like a rep, not a "customer who got contacted and offered a referral reward system"

that being said, after we contact you, what is the process to sign us up? do we mail you cash via western union to your nigerian bank account?

also, referral links are not allowed on ozbargain, if you want to post a referral, you have to make available, the non referall method available as well and leave it up to us whether we want to contact you to sign up or not

i think it would work better for you after somebody signs up for this independently and confirms for the rest of us, so as to allieviate any concerns that you are sus and confirm that this is a legitimate deal. Otherwise you could be a reseller/dealer posing as a customer advertising one of your own deals

    • -7

Your scheme failed dude. Save yourself and quit

  • +1

Do you have to be a post paid customer or a pre paid customer?

  • +1

@bctransit - the deal is only available through a specific Vodafone consultant.
@chrysilis - yes you are right.

If anyone wants the deal then just send me an email with your name and then I will forward that to the Vodafone consultant and she will contact you to arrange it and she can then answer any questions too. I am going to check with her if I can post her email address on here so that people can contact her directly. If you want to mention me sending you you can and if not then you don't need to. It's a great bargain and I wanted to share it.

  • +3

just keep this in the forums, its not a deal

    • it is a deal for me

  • +1

I live in Brisbane. I am happy to send half of the referral credit to anyone by paypal. I am waiting on the consultant to call me back to check that she is happy for me to put her contact email address on here directly. Then if anyone wants the offer but does not want to mention me as the referral credit they are welcome to. I have got so many bargains off Ozbargain over the years and this is one of the first times I have been able to post a bargain myself. Sorry for trying!

    • +3

      its a good deal
but can you blame people for being skeptical? the referral thing always puts people off

btw did they say what kind of modem u get? usb or mifi

  • It is a USB modem.
OK does someone on here want to email me and I can give you the consultant's number and you can call her and confirm that the deal is valid? Would that make people happy?

    • -2

please post the details here. I don't even want to have to email an unknown third party

  • +1

im interested in this deal but not willing to share any personal details with some back door channel which may not even be real.
Please try and find out if there's a way we can get this deal through more official channels. I don't mind dropping your name so you get the referral credit, but I'd much rather ring the legit Vodafone call centre.

  • +6

guys, the deal is real (well i have signed up but ofcourse the modem will take time to arrive). im in sydney, not related to OP.
for referral thing, well, to be honest, i dont mind giving someone money/benefit as long it does not affect how much i have to spend. in this case, i get modem + data for free, OP get some benefit, thats fair enough.

i have spoken with voda rep, she is real, her email is with voda domain, and she can see my other voda plan on her system, etc etc.

no, you dont need to be voda customer, this is just their marketing, trying to get new customer after some bad coverage about vodafail and they have lost alot of customers

    • +3

well i've sent through a link to this ozbargain page to the vodafone twitter guys and hopefully they can provide some confirmation

  • well, Julz, if what OP said is correct, this deal is rep by rep only… but please share your rep reply

    further details..
this is month to month contract, but voda will give credit of $80 in advance to cover your 4.5 months bill.
    link to the plan (1.5gb/mths)
    http://shop.vodafone.com.au/all-broadbands?id=800011
BEWARE : there is a word "THIS MODEM IS NOT FOR REGIONAL USE" i didnt ask, i didnt realise this before i said yes to rep, but fortunately, i live in sydney cbd, so all good for me.
i also didnt ask if i will get this modem (with region limitation) so you better ask.

    • In advance? Then what's stopping us to take the $80 and disconnect the service in the next moth or even the next day? The credit can be used to pay other service eg. voice service?

      • well remember mobile account is not bank account you cannot withdraw the money out.
im not rep, but if you cancel the service then remaining balance will be lapsed - thats what i will do to you if im a rep :)

        • But say I'm an existing vodafone customer.. with $69 plan.. Since this will be in the same account that means any credit in my account can be used to pay my bill, right? So, if I've got a $84 voda bill ($69 voice and $15 data) and I have $80 advance credit this means I need only to pay $4 towards the bill. Am I right? Then since this deal is month by month, there should be no contract whatsoever, right? Please enlighten

    • +1

I don't think its a region limitation. I think its because vodaphone are flogging these 900/2100mhz modems off as the new modems are 850/2100mhz aligned with their setting up of 850mhz towers in regional areas. So given these modems are 900/2100mhz they are pretty much worth what you pay. Free. :)

  • how can i contact with you arielleann? can u setup a new email just for this offer only, so i can send my email to you. i can't send email to your profile

  • +2

I have an email address I use for web signups - it is [email protected] - happy to share that on here if anyone wants to email me you can use that.

  • there you go., so people please see above post and dont send me email ….

  • +1

I just checked with the consultant and it is against Vodafone policy to put their email addresses on public forums which is what I thought. Anyway as I said feel free to email me via the contact on ozbargain or the [email protected] email address.
When I spoke to her she also said that the $100 referral is for referring new customers to Vodafone. If you are already a Vodafone customer, then the referral credit for this deal is $50 (in which case I am happy to give you half still which is $25).

    • +4

Mate you sound so fishy and misleading also you must be Vodafone's rep.

The title says that this is a Vodafone deal also the web link shows "Vodafone" then we're redirected to some where else? Isn't this an hoax??

    • +3

arielleann : got the call from voda and signup - thank you very much. (Also got your email, happy to wait as long as it takes, thanks again)

  • +1

    Price in title please

    • +2

omg.. its free.. nada nil none zero zippy

  • how to get the 4 months free on new 12 month contract?

  • @ dealsniper - If you want that deal then just send me an email with your name and then I will forward that to the Vodafone consultant and she will contact you to arrange it and she can then answer any questions too.

    • +1

thanks for quick reply. is there any way for me to call through the official call centre for voda and get them to patch me through to that rep (like intercom code etc)? i don't mind mentioning your name for ur referral purposes.

    • Arielleann I am existing Voda customer Cant say I am happy with the network or service but sent email so will wait a call from your Rep…..

Unless I am missing something here please confirm:
      - 4 months free data + modem + SIM + $25 credit and you can cancel anytime?
      - 4 months free Access on any new mobile phone plan with 12 months contract on a Separate deal and still get extra $25? :)
_ your new link says the modem is 3G broadband (HSDPA)/3G 2100MHz/ 850MHz) is this correct?

can't see why this is not a deal here either, if the above holds true…. maybe some of the skeptics work for rival telecoms or had such bad experience that anything voda is associated with Fail!

  • Any possibility to connect the 4 month of free-internet to an existing prepaid mobile account with Vodafone? Sent you an Ozbargain message too.

  • +2

why the link is inq cloud touch? please change. this is misleading

  • +1

I have updated the link. Sorry I was looking at getting the INQ cloud and put the wrong link on

  • +1

Not related to op but signed up. Didnt sound dodgy n the agent knew my other service details. Good deal n happy for op to get referral credit.

  • I get XX months FREE!!!!!!

everyone contact mod/me/you/OP/every single guy or girl,
so this is a bargain too?

more like a mobile phone shop selling their plans!

  • I think I'll sign up with someone with a little more rep on Ozbargain, no offense arielleann. Erwinsie, are you able to refer me?

    • sorry, please go thru OP, she is legit.

  • hmm so far no one call me back yet. and tomorrow is the deadline?

  • what is wrong with this people that neg this post, you guys really got mob mentality and skeptic mentality. how can you join ozbargain in the first place? this people give you free internet, free modem and free $25 and someone still give neg on it. and some people really got issue reading the post.

  • +1

Hi @Joannatan - I have given the rep your details - I know she has been inundated with calls today - I will follow up with her tomorrow

    • pls also follow up with her re to contact me, haven't received any call yet. thx

  • can 2 people from the same household sign up to this?

  • +1

Yes - when I signed up, my partner and my mum both signed up with me and we are signing up our kids as well on a mobile offer they have

    • yeah, i will sign up with my wife, my son, my sister, my neighbor, my friend, my work colleag just see what the rep said to me tomorrow

      • +1

Your wife? I thought you were a lady since Joanna Tan was a girl's name? But hey it's 2011, so each to their own :)

        • my wife use this account as well. so don't be confuse, it can be male and female :)

        • +1

you dont miss any details on this forum , do u

        • just being lazy to create another account. she created this account first.

    • hi

      • +1

Yes, hello homa5. Welcome to Vodafone. You're chatting with Ccrap. How may I direct your query?

  • Hi @arielleann
Got home late and noticed the deal.
I just sent an email to [email protected] =]
    Thanks.

  • Maybe someone else could do the referral. Hate to think that Voda's getting new customers for free :) I'm a new customer. so anyone wants to refer me and share the $100?!

  • My partner is on Vodafone - I am happy to put his name down as the referrer - only issue is that I don't know when he can could give you the 50% as he is on a low plan and it will take a few months for him to use up the credit. If you are happy to wait though I am sure that would be ok

  • Can someone please pm me the Voda reps details, as well as their referral info so we can share the credit? Sydneysiders are preferred.

Dont get me wrong, kudos to OP, but I wouldnt be suprised if she has reached her limit on referrals to her account by now. It's probably at the stage where voda will he paying her and her entire family for using their network :)

  • @Joannatan, just send a email to you, please check, Thanks!

  • Why is the deal being deleted? Is there something dodgy going on?

    • i guess, the op tired answering all your queries and emails hahahaha
no, seriously, i think that voda rep already had alot of people registered under her, so she decide not to offer this anymore. deal expired. easy.

      • Haha ok fair enough. But she did get $50 for effort of each person so not like there was nothing in it for her.

Thanks op by if this was the case you can simply mark the post as expired rather than delete all the post details and text an raise unnecessary suspicion among the community.

        • agreed

        • Thanks mod for checking with OP and posting clarification! And thanks op for bringing this deal to us - at least some had luck!

  • no wonder i didn't get phone call since yesterday up to now

  • Hi,

This has been miscommunicated on a website and as a result that offer is not a valid offer. This is for a 12 month contract only which is valid until today.

If you are still interested, let me know, and I will proceed with this for you.

    Kind regards,

    • Where did you get the from - the OP's voda rep or one you contacted directly?

      • i got reply from voda rep, but op referred me to voda yesterday

  • just wondering if some one can get the free offer yesterday without join any contract?
