Chocolate Easter Bunnies $0.49 for 100g @ ALDI

970

Aldi is cleaning up Easter stock, and their chocolate Choceur Easter Bunny is now $0.49 for 100g.

That's only $4.90 for 1 kg of good bunny-shaped chocolate.

Good for eating, cooking, melting for hot chocolate, etc.

Local stock may vary depending on store, but they just got discounted today so should be still available around.

There are also other varieties of Easter confectionery on good discounts.

Why is one facing the other way?

      Good Different.

That one has Covid 19 and is social distancing/isolating itself

      • +5

        Social distancing != isolation

        • +1

          But, but but.

          isolation == social distancing

      • Actually in rabbits it would be CaliciVirus, RHDV.

No Coronas were involved in the creation of RHDV, the boffins in CSIRO were strictly Stones Green Ginger Wine affectionardos.

He's the only one to realise he's not a real Lindt bunny, but an ALDI replicant and is questioning his existence. Am I real? Are my memories mine? Is this even real chocolate?

My kids said they’re cheap, so they probably don’t taste good.

    • +7

They're all cheap, no matter the brand, chocolate is getting worse every year, it's literally brown coloured sugar water melted into something that gives resemblance of chocolate. Only chocolate brand of these mainstream ones that I still kind of value is whittaker's.

      • +15

        Lindt is excellent.

        • +3

The last actual "chocolate" available in Australia.

Ignoring Haigh's Chocolates. Who needs an extra mortgage!

          • @iDroid: I find Lindt to be too buttery, still nice in small qtys though. Haigh's is good, but pricey.

    • +7

They arent too bad. Aldi chocolate is better than Cadbury, but no lindt (based on eating 6 of these rabbits!)

Choceur proves there is a very fine line between chocolate and biological warfare.

      Utterly vile.

      • +6

choceur is made to a mainland european style, not american or english style of chocolate, so expect more cocoa butter and more milk in the milk chocolate…..
big things that make big brands of chocolate taste different is time spent conching (very important), amount of cocoa butter, amount of cocoa , vanilla, etc.

the vile stuff is compound chocolate, very common in biscuits , it doesn’t have cocoa butter but instead uses vegetable, oils such as palm oil,

        • +1

Heaps of the chocolate uses palm oil
          See Ferrero Rocher even

          • +1

@SomeGuyOnOzB: ferrero has the nutella filling ….that is where the palm oil is, not the exterior chocolate, weston wagon wheels are compound chocolate (yuk) so palm oil on the exterior chocolate coating.

aldi chocolate is actually good value quality wise compared to many other brands and always do well in choice magazine.

You literally posted this just after my local Aldi has closed. Knowing my luck, they will all be gone in the morning.

    • +3

      My local was $1 today

      • +1

They were $.99 around 3pm at my local ALDI as well but still had to get some.

        • I load up on these a month before easter, so by the time Easter comes around I'm over chocolate. .. just in time to get back on it when all Chocolate goes half price post Easter.

  • Iv been told Aldi chockolart is Made we’re lint is made

I don't know about that but their $3 blocks are freaking good for the money. Especially the hazelnut one.

Moser-Roth branded are made by Storck in Germany, Choceur stuff I believe is made on Aldi's own confectionery factory in Belgium.

Lindt is mostly made in Switzerland.

Iv been told Aldi chockolart is Made we’re lint is made

In my jeans pocket and belly button?

    • aldi chocolate is made in germany, lindt is made in switzerland, though lindt do send in bulk to countries where it is re- melted and made into products specific to the local market.

      • Lindt bunnies are made in Aachen Germany (according to Lindt's website and the gold bunny sitting next to me), in fact it seems like most of the Lindt stuff sold here is made there when I went looking at the labels.

I've been told that 5G towers are causing the spread of Coronavirus.

      • They also make your kids FLK.

      • Wait wait wait tell us about the Twin Towers before

      • 5G is spreading Calicivirus, which is bad, hence the lack of the Easter Bunny this year. In hiding.

However, it has also spread Khaleesivirus, which is controlling the hordes from the steppes this year. A plus.*

WARNING: Game of thrones spoilers ahead!

*If only Aerys II Targaryen hadn't cancelled the maesters work on the nearly finish Khaleesivirus, just think of how Westeros history might have changed.

        • If this was Reddit, you would have just been awarded Gold for that gem. THANK YOU :-D

These ALDI Lindt Bunny "knockoffs" for $.99 are fantastic.
Made in Germany and so good.
I was at my local ALDI at 3pm and these were still $.99 but had to get them.
Got 2 of each milk, dark, and white and I eat them way too quickly :(

    • +2

Aren’t they the same as posted?

      • Yes, but when I saw $.49 I though the post was about the "cheap" standard bunny ALDI had not this premium version ;)

    • +1

I'm eating a $.99 white bunny at the moment. good chocolate.

      • +1

        Is that even chocolate?

  • +2

All Easter chocolate are 1/2 price @ my local Aldi. They taste OK for the price paid.

What's your WAX vs Coco Butter ratio rating?

Sooo much "chocolate" seems like palm wax and sugar these days.

Hopefully, it will be marked down tomorrow at my store.

    • it will be.

  • Paid 99 cents for two of these clowns this morning.

    • Sounds like you got overcharged a cent then. Hope you kept the receipt!

      • 99 cents apiece, I meant to imply. And still the same price today!

  • I went to my Aldi, and there were none of these!
