OZBARGAIN

We had such a great response here to our last wine promotion we thought Ozbargain was a great place to clear vintages to make space for our latest. Our sister (brother) OMRAH Wines made by Plantagenet in Mount Barker Western Australia has some 2015 Cabernet Merlot that needs to go so we can bring in the 2017 Vintage. The 2015 vintage on offer received 94 points from WINE SHOWCASE MAGAZINE and 90 points from WINE ORBIT - so you won't be disappointed.

For Ozbargain members only we are offering 59% off with FREE SHIPPING anywhere in Australia. This works out to be $98.40/case reduced from a retail price of $240/case. Grab it while you can as we have limited stock.

Plantagenet Wines was established in 1968 and is the oldest commercial winery in the premium cool climate Great Southern Wine Region in WA. We are a 5-star winery and are known for producing wines of elegance and sophistication - crafted from aged vineyards and quality parcels of fruit. OMRAH Wines is our affiliate brand from Plantagenet Winemaker Chris Murtha.

  • $17 at Dan's, good reviews on BWS too.

    • Thanks for the support - it really is a great drop.

  • Have all the grapes been picked down in the great southern and Margaret river?

    • Yes but only in The Great Southern Wine Region of Western Australia, Mount Barker - beautiful cool-climate wines.

  • Is it the omragh .. or the 'omragh crossing' as shown in the picture pls ?

    As these are different wines?

    • Omrah Crossing as shown in the picture - good point - they are one in the same brand.

      • Same brand but different wines looking at vivino?

        • +1

Omrah and Omrah Crossing are the same brand made by Plantagenet Wines. I see what you are referring to; yes that is an old label. We've had some changes over time - if you look at the Omrah Wines website you will find the Omrah Crossing current label as reflected in the image I have posted. Thanks for considering.

  • thanks. #supportlocal #buywa

    • Absolutely - support the West Australian Wine Industry. Thank you

  • Thanks for deals, really looking forward to one of your shiraz's coming on ozb. Tried to order above, under shipping information, if you press new shipping address, an error pops up. Page not found.

    • We will get there for the shiraz soon enough. Try logging-out completely and give it another go. Sorry for the dramas.

      • You beauty, ordered.

        • fantastic, glad it worked in the end

  • Ordered ;)

    • Thanks for your support - enjoy!

      • Don't know if you can update the pic on the main ozbargain page. It's just a black box of nothing.
Peeps actually have to read the description !

        • Sure thing will have a look - pretty new to this, and I read that we were not allowed to advertise products with an image so I left it blank

          • @plantagenet: yes if you are adding a link then you can't also add a thumbnail and unfortunately, our link looks blank - hopefully the wording does the job :)

            • @plantagenet: Ah yes. You're right.
I'm not that experienced at loading deals but just did a dummy one and i see what you mean.
Either way, looks like you'll do ok out of this.
              Shiraz next please :)

              • +3

@birnie: that sounds like a couple of votes for shiraz next - will do.

  • Great deal thanks! Got a couple to stash away, looking forward to it.

    • Enjoy your wine - thanks so much for ordering!

Thanks Zac - relive the Mount Barker vibe … cheers for supporting

  • Awesome! Keep em coming and I'll keep buying!

    • Thanks - enjoy your wine

  • Just wondering how long will this cellar for ? Does it need to be consumed quickly ? I mean this year or so, not drink a bottle in under an hour. ;)

    • apologies for the delayed response, this has cellaring potential of around 15 years so easily another 5 years as it was a 2015.

      • Thanks. I ordered your Merlot, but not a huge red wine drinker and would like to save a few for next year or 2 or ..
        Think I'll buy a carton.

  • Done. Thanks. Just over $8 a bottle delivered, once again can't go wrong.

    • Exactly can't go wrong and it will last - enjoy!

      • Actually, how long will the Merlot that you had on sale cellar for ? Thanks

        • Hi, the Merlot won't hold as long; so try to get through this in 2020/21

  • Sold! Will look forward to enjoying these as it gets colder.

    • reds go very well with the colder weather

  • I ordered two weeks ago but nothing shipped so far. They don't respond to e-mails. Has anyone received their order?

    • Hello Bluee, could you please provide more details you can email [email protected] and we will look into the order and email you are referring to. Many Thanks

This deal is only a week old??

  • Mine arrived today, within 5 days of ordering. Taste test tonight!!!

    • Nice !

Did you get a shipment notification ?

      • +1

No just the order confirmation. I'm in South west WA so quicker delivery for me probably.

    • Mine arrived today as well, pretty speedy delivery!

    • Wow. Delicious. Good job Plantagenet.

  • Mine just turned up today.
I did get a notification from Auspost a while back for tracking.
Still took ages but that's with all our deliveries at the moment.
Thanks for the deal, tasting tonight :P

  • Right.

I'm really struggling with this stuff.
As soon as I poured it out i had an "uh oh" moment.
It just had that colour that you know isn't going to be good.
Looks more like port as it comes out.
And when I did taste it, it was as expected.

    The taste is not good.
If I has paid the RRP on this I'd be super p'd off.
    Even at $8 i'm annoyed.

Although you obviously cant taste through youtube, when I get hold of another decent bottle of red, i'll video pouring the 2 side by side.
You'll be able to 'see' the taste if you've experienced it before.

Truly awful?? I dont know, but truly below average.
Going to save the rest to go in spaghetti bolognese.

Particularly coming from the 3 bottle of Jacobs Creek Barrel whatever for $36 the other week which was just glorious, makes this one even harder to swallow.

It's just my opinion of course….
    :(

    • Hello Birnie, that is not a good result.

Have you only tried the one bottle? It should be quite a soft smooth finish – not a heavy-bodied wine. Being not our higher-tiered ranges it is mainly bought for good low-cost wine value.

Thank you for your feedback, and I am sorry your experience with Plantagenet Wines did not live up to expectations.

  • Would love another at this price - fantastic value! Hope you guys could?
