yeah taiwanese bubble tea also should be recall some months ago as they contained danger ingredient.

    • In fact, there's a lot of that in any instant foods. If eaten responsibly they're safe, but obviously they are not a healthy food for daily meal.

I come from the country that produce Mie Goreng.
Personally I have avoided eating this instant noodle due to the MSG , wax and coloring (tartrazine) content of it.
+ few of my uni friends that is related to the conglomerate group that produces this instant noodle never eat their own company produce.

But if anyone want to eat it, make sure you drain the water and if you want it to be soupy, pour hot water in after.

    Enjoy your instant noodle !

Come on its just an egg noodles. Lots of hoax surrounding it. Simply if its not safe Australian authority would not even allow it. They are not paid good money for nothing. If you ever tried to import food stuff to Australia you will know what I mean.

The worst you can get from this is palm oil. Even that is less dangerous than the trans fat they use in deep frying kfc and your maccas. But if your diet consist only this you may have protein and some vitamin deficiency.

And msg is safe you eat lots of them from tomatoes and seaweed its a natural byproduct.

BTW try to eat it like this

      2 pack mie goreng
2 egg ( I like mine sunny side)
      Half corned beef can sauted
And slice cheese (processed one with plastic per slice) melted
      Mix them all

Notes not reccomended for weight loss ;)

      • is it ur breakfast or dinner?

You forgot to add salt…oh wait

I'm pretty sure these ones would be the made for Australia ones, not the cheap crappy asian ones mentioned above in the neg posts. Honestly the quality is very noticable. I've tried the asian ones from IGA and was very put off by them.
The Aussie export ones sell for $2.80 for a 5 pack at Coles, I buy them every week.
This is a good deal indeed.

Edit: Only thing that bugs me is the store locations. They're all in NSW. (should be in title.)
I mainly voted positive to counter the negative votes.

  • im in mid-sem exam mode for uni.. perfect time to stock up on Mi-Goreng as food for thought! :D

  • Lol, I never thought noodles could be so 'dangerous' to your health. Most things are bad for you and something is going to kill you eventually anyway so why bother worrying. I'm gonna go buy a few packs to get some of that MSG into my system for the lulz :)

    • +1

At least MSG doesn't kill you as fast as cigerettes and beer for lunch :P

  • Cheaper at the local asian store.

  • KFL supermarket at Flemmington, Victoria, sells 40 packs for $12.

    • What if I do not want to saturate my body with MSG and only want 5 pack?

      • u jelly?

      • Find another 7 sensible people like you. :)

        • It had to be asked but yeah why 7?

        • 8 people take 5 packs each.

      • If you actually care that much about MSG I suggest you don't eat any at all.

        • Sometimes you just want a quick fix.

  • As good as these taste and i know as i used to live on them, they are worse for you than eating a big mac. They contain palm oil which is just as bad as trans fat which can give you heart disease so if your fat the last thing you should be worried about is msg. The noodles are cooked in it but the oil sachet is just pure palm oil, so at least ditch that and use your own olive oil or something. Im not preaching and i dont care ultiamtely but just be aware.

  • Most noodles can be bad for your health, that's why you have them as part of a diet that is as possible/practical. You would have to be very strong willed to not get tired of noodles long before they impacted your health.

  • IGA Bridge Rd (VIC) sells 5 packs for $1.49.

  • i get it for 9.50 for 40 pack..(i.e a carton)
