740

Not the lowest price that it has ever been, but a decent sale if you're looking for a compact speaker.

The original soundlink mini was such a good little thing. I had it for 5 years before I decided to sell it to "upgrade"… Regrets ever since. Because of the metal construction, it's was heavy and the sound was beefy for its size. Best portable to date

    • Yep heard great reviews about it, excited for this purchase.

    • Yeah had the same, it was a great quality unit.

I've had mine since 2014 and it has been working like clockwork. Even the battery still lasts around 7 hours after 6 years

Great punchy little speaker, perfect bluetooth connection, great battery life

Fortunate to get it for $102 few months back during Christmas. Thanks to OZB 😊. Great speaker

    • +2

Yeah, that was an amazing deal.

  • Managed to get it before Christmas for the $102 also, easily one of the best purchases I've made from Ozbargain. Sounds amazing, very sturdy and excellent build quality.

    • Agreed. Love it

This has USB C for charging, which is pretty neat.

Guess i will wait until Christmas.

It was a bit of a hack, not an offered deal so unlikely to reoccur

  • This doesn't have any Google assistant or Google Home function tho right?

    • Not this model.

  • +3

I have one of these. Great speaker. Highly recommend. Cheap as well, can't believe people got them at $102 in the past. Cracking bargain.

    • +5

Yep. I love that there is no assistant or Amazon spyware built in. Just a great small speaker

  • Please keep in mind it doesn't come with a base charger only a charging cord.

    • Can you leave it plugged in with the charging cord?
Or is it meant to be used as a portable speaker without the base charger?
Edit: Nevermind, out of stock now.

  • Paid 101 for mine, matte black. USB-C was a pleasant surprise!

Harvey Norman refused to price match stating it was below their cost price.

Seems to be their standard response these days.

    • Email support and Lodge an ACCC.

If they are going to push price match policy, they should not then turn around using 'below cost' as an excuse.

JB did that to me 3 months back and they had to back peddle..

  • Need some sound for an outdoor bbq area about 5mx8m any suggestions if not this?

    • +1

      Oos now :(

This will definitely cover that area for sound… If you want something central to that space for say a table, then the Revolve is a great speaker also. I have both this model and the revolve +. Both solid units. Revolve + has bigger sound, but pricier. Standard Revolve is amazing also. This one is pretty fantastic too. Sorry, not sure i helped..

      • Thanks. Not going to be centrally positioned, will be in the middle on a wall probably above or below a TV. Just something for music, bonus if it works with TV. Was thinking of getting a soundbar, i have a yamaha in bedroom that seems OK, but then this popped up provoking a little more thought.

        • This will be a great speaker for your mentioned space. There is another similar deal just saw on OZB if you have missed this one

        • You're going to get better sound from a decent compact soundbar (i.e. Sonos Beam). In saying that the sound that this produces for its size and price is quite remarkable.

          • @Ryballs: Thanks mate though not looking to spend over $250

  • how does this compare to the xiaomi one

BOSE the worst company in the world to deal with and they make medicore crap at best!

It took me ~90 days to get a refund (~1.2K) from them after considering buying one of their HT packages due to OZBargain hype and then finding out it was mediocre at best, I tried to cancel the order, NO CHANCE, refused delivery from Aust Post and they sent it back but then they took at least 60 days to refund my money 'despite' The Bose "Excitement Guarantee".

ONLY fools would buy their 'subjective' under-performing CRAP!!

    • Their support is below average. And they have released some pretty poor firmware which has lowered the quality of the sound on some of their products, but generally, their products are well made and sound great compared to the other portable speakers. Just a fools 2 cents ;)

      Bose are not the worst.

    • I’ve got the qc35 ii and have had no complaints

I agree with their terrible customer support.. when the Christmas deal was happening, I was on the phone for hour and half, made 3 calls.

But hey, I was talking to them while working so it didn't bother me as much and the product, when it arrived, was very worth it.

    • Hmm interesting because my mate got in contact with Bose after the whole Sleepbuds fiasco. They didn't make him through any hoops and offered him a full RRP refund even though his receipt clearly had a much (much) lower price.

Your description of Bose sounds like you've mistaken them for Beats By Dre.

  • Got this on the Christmas deal. Very impressed!

  • I have to say this is an amazing Bluetooth speaker. Very satisfied.
