Hey Ozbargain community,

Was looking around for books and I found this site I've never heard of before "Boomerang Books" offering free shipping if going through Booko and using the code "Booko" Screenshot here. Presumably similar to Booktopia a while back.

Despite them saying they've been around for a while, never seen them before, Ozbargain doesn't have their presence. An ABN search shows they've been around in current form since December 2018. They're apparently Australian, apparently been around for a while, phone number starts with 02 (NSW). Productreview.com.au has an appalling 2.5 from 5 stars (13 reviews), however none of them are recent. Facebook/Twitter doesn't tell me much whether they're legit or not.

I might buy a cheap item from them later on, will let Ozbargain know if I proceed whether they're legit or not. They offer PayPal so there's always protection there.

Update 29/4/20 - I placed an order on 20/4, just received email stating it has been dispatched, will update more when it arrives.

  Going through booko is usually always free shipping.

  I purchased some books from here mid last year, and had no problems.

  Boomerang is totally legit - online arm of the old Pages and Pages, good support in fact have always been pretty speedy with the shipping. Happy to support them if they're competitively priced (which they are for a number of high school textbooks)

  I've heard of both Booko and Boomerang Books before and they are definitely legit. Always love a free shipping code :-)

  Thanks for the positive feedback guys, bought a few books last night based on your feedback, will update on progress/timing.

  Surprised nobody knows about it, most of the prices seem reasonable/significantly better than book depository (the low AUD probably also has something to do with it).

  Bought a book on 19/4 and it arrived today (5/5), a total of 11 working days. Had to prompt them to dispatch it after 5 days of no updates.

  Pretty happy with the purchase otherwise.
