Just went to Costco Casula and found Winix 4 Stage air purifier on special.

Been looking for an air purifier and this one seems pretty good. Cheapest I've seen!

Pros and cons vs xiaomi 3h or pro?

    • Xioami will be easier and cheaper to get filters for

    • +2

pro has a higher air output (ACH 8.33 vs 4.5). replacement filters are $50 (pro) vs $150. Apparently the winix pro neutralises viruses with UV technology.Winix filters 99.97% @ 0.3 microns while the pro with HEPA filter filters 99.3% @ 0.3 microns

I have this one, the replacement filter is $$$$$ and afaik only available from one place.

    • $124-$140 for a filter pack which includes all filters. They say goes for 1 yr continuous use.

Haven't looked to see if cheaper from OS or Amazon

    • I've got the heckin' chonker 5 stage Winix which looks ugly in comparison to this! The filters are around $140-$160 (depending on whether they're on sale) from https://www.ausclimate.com.au/products/air-purifiers/replace…

You can buy the filters for the 5 stage on Amazon but most of the reviews say the cassette doesn't fit properly, so you need to transplant the filters from the new one into the old shell.

Our 5 stage one works pretty well. We've used it for over 2 years and haven't replaced the filter because it's not on all the time. Definitely filters a lot of air and can get rid of cooking odours pretty solidly. Not sure how it compares to the Xiaomi but as someone else suggested, the Xiaomi will be way cheaper to get filters for. Winix don't seem to have much of a market in the way of third party filters unfortunately.

  • Air purifiers are so December… Toilet paper is cool now.

I got this one from Costco 2 weeks ago.
Pretty happy with it, and I agree, the filter is expensive and only 1 place can offer it. Here is the link: https://www.ausclimate.com.au/products/aus-5500-winix-4-stag…

But i still bought it because of 3 reasons:
    - Costco is good at their warranty policy. You are not happy, you can return and get a full refund.
    - This one made in Korea and got really, I repeat really high rate. Hospital grade.
    - It works quietly and effectively. This reason is related to the second reason but it is really good so I decided to put it as a separated reason to buy.

Of course, these are just my opinions.

  • Is this product available at costco casula?

Is this product better than phillip 2000 model?
