Telstra Sucks - Any Other Good Mobile Plans Other than Telstra?

My Telstra sucks, no range most of the time, constant disconnects, internet dropouts, 3G or even one bar of signal etc. I am looking for any other good alternatives, a good plan with some monthly data.

Currently paying around $50 month to month for Telstra for 60GB or so.

Try an Optus pre-paid sim to try the network.

Strange to see that happening with Telstra tho. Tried another phone/sim?

my Telstra has been patchy of late.. suspect its the data loads

Optus is far superior in the CBD. Telstra SIM cards provided by work always struggle with signal.

I believe the reverse is true once you venture far outside the CBD.

What phone do you have? Have you tried a different phone?

100% this, sometimes we get a bargain deal for a handset that doesnt have the frequencies required to hit the tower in your area.

  • Have you tried a SIM replacement, and are you a business or consumer cust? If you are a business customer, they use a different system and it could be as easy as refreshing data codes on your service or adding data codes to your number as it doesn't automatically apply

Go catch connect. They use optus.

It wont fix your issue, but Aldi gives you most of what Telstra does for a lot less…
If Optus is out, you could try a Vodaphone sim, but may not be the carrier that is the issue (per above hardware issues or even software)

    • If youre going down this route, boost is an option as well (like pingudog said above)

  • Port to Catch (Optus) for 90 days, $9.90 after cashback and see if that's better for you.

Sounds like your phone doesn't have the right bands for Telstra…..

What are you in and what phone do you have?

  • You say "are there any other good deals" implying that there has ever been a good Telstra deal… usually the prerequisite of a deal is that it isn't Telstra

    • The prepaid deals aren’t too bad, especially if they are on discount.

  • Sorry didnt see all the reply's. I will answer the questions now

We live 16km far from CBD

Me and my wife uses Iphone X - We both have similar issues

My friend has an iphone Xr/Xs the one just before the 11 and aldi sim, his i would say slightly better than mine, not great like old days telstra

Not a business plan, we took the connection last year when they offered the $500 voucher or oppo reno

Was using optus before, fine, much better than the now telstra, but when we moved to telstra last year it was great , its only been a few months telstra is like this

I couldnt even hotspot to my laptop, sometimes no signal at all, then it will come with 3g, one bar etc.

Today i was trying to hotspot and doesnt work at the end i have to use one of the guys vodaphone. I used to hotspot all the time when i first tookout telstra a year ago.

Havent tried a sim replacement yet, i should try that as a first step but something tells me it wont make a difference as my wife and my mate having similar issues.
