Chicco Keyfit + Le Genesis Capsule - $249 Delivered @ PBC Expo

40

Spotted a Chicco Keyfit Le Genesis Capsule for $249 Delivered on the PBC Expo site which is by far the cheapest around. It got a good CREP rating too (Before 2018 changes).

I brought one for my newborn, it seems very sturdy and I like how you can level the base. The only slight negative I have found is the harness strap which goes around the capsule and clips into the ISOFIX point is quite short so you may need an extender depending on your vehicle and where your ISOFIX point is located, other than that it's a great price! 😊

Thanks all and enjoy!

  • A new gaming chair! 🤯

    • It might be more use as a gaming chair as I'm not sure how many people will get use out of this. These capsules are for people who use their car a lot and will need to take the new born with them all the time. If the baby is only going to travel a little but then you're better off with a normal car seat as it will last long than 6 months.

Better to get a 0-4 convertible seat like Britax Compaq/Brava/Graphene or Infasecure Quattro. It'll last a lot longer than six months. Especially at the moment when people aren't going out so much anyway.

    • I looked at 0-4 seats the other day and word on here was Britax are the go. However, Britax's required removing the chair to change the recline angle! The Mothers choice and Maxi Cosi design was vastly superior and you just pull a lever with it all strapped in. Also the Millenia has this big eject button right in the kids lap that can be pushed very easily by little hands (unbelievable)! Parents in the shop pointed it out to me to avoid as they own a Millenia and their kid ejects himself all the time.

So I'm back to the drawing board. In Baby bunting I couldn't find one chair that had decent head support for new borns and then decent support later on.

      • Why do you need to change the recline angle? We've never had to do that for my 15 month old…

        • For forward facing situations such as long country drives and coming home late. One little lever pull at the front and they can lay back and go to sleep.

          • @tunzafun001: Ours is always laying back. The laid back angle is safe. We are using extended rear facing though and will be until he outgrows it.

            • @em: Ok, so people who use the Britax seats basically only intend to use it as a rear facing seat until they are 4 or grow out of them? I thought around 2 years old they would crack it and want to face forward?

              • @tunzafun001: ERF is safer, so we're using it as long as possible. Will be interesting to see how long we get out of it given our son is in the 85th percentile for height.
