9 Free Audiobooks to Help You Sleep

Do these work on kids who have been on screens all day ???

I've found that any spoken word from Noam Chomsky puts me to sleep.

    • +4

Anyone who doesn't like Chomsky's words likely is asleep.

      • While I agree with him most of the time, his attitude towards voting for the lesser of two evils is ridiculous.

Are these full books? They seem very short 5-40min

    • +3

How long does it take you to fall asleep? Hopefully within 5-40min.

Some are short stories, some are tips & techniques.

Not much use listening to an 8+ hour book just to help you fall asleep fast 😴

I get what you're saying.. call it a knee jerk reaction because most books are hours long.

Guess I was also looking at it from long term use case.. you can only listen to stuff thats 5 min long so many times

        • Check out the sleep with me podcast if you are after long term use.

These aren't normal audio books to pay attention to. If they were, your comment about length would have been valid.
These are just something to doze off to.

I use the Calm app (free sub in a couple of Deals) which has a choice of short stories & music to fall asleep to.

looking at it from long term use case
As children, we liked repetition of favourite bedtime stories. The stories were short, but we wanted to hear them over & over. So these may have long term use! Many books are discarded after 1 use!!

I find I have a few short stories read by Stephen Fry that I've listened to many times over more than a year - to fall asleep to. Playing stories to go to sleep by, often means we miss parts of the tale & it's worth catching up next time, or the time after 😴

Hey OP. I've noticed "loving kindness" is hyperlinked to the wrong web page.

      Fixed, thanks.

  • I am not an 'enrolled' member but I can still buy these. How often do they do this free non-member deals?

Once per pandemic usually. We got 12 free audiobooks in 1352 during the bubonic plague.
