Some people like Bose some don't - plenty of other sound bar options - this sound bar gets very good reviews for its big sound and small stylish design however main drawback is no support for Atmos/DTS:X and only one HDMI input.

    Thanks OP. Just for those interested the OB favourite from Yamaha rates slightly higher (According to choice magazine for what it’s worth) and it’s a lot cheaper.

      That doesn't mean it sounds better, fyi. Imo this sounds significantly better even without the bass module.

      The Yamaha has a built-in subwoofer too. Primary critique on the Bose Soundbar 500 reviews is the bass. It feels like the Yamaha probably sounds better and Bose is just riding on a brand name here.

    Neither Bose Soundbar have Atmos support but they sound amazing.

    Sonos isn't as good in the sound aspect but the smart connectivity makes it desirable.

    My Bose 700 is amazing. Wouldn't even look at anything else.

    I think a couple of weeks ago it was less than $500 on amazon. But I didn’t pull the trigger then. 700 is excey but very pretty though.

    This thing sounds so lightweight without the so it's just not worth considering it without it. I got the Soundbar 700 but got rid of it a few weeks later and got the Samsung. Only buy this if space is an absolute premium.

      Yep any set of stereo speakers works best all soundbars if you have the space

        I got the Samsung HW-MS750 with the SWA-W700/XY subwoofer. It's an unbelievable combination and I got them both near new for $800.

        The Q80R replaced the MS750 but didn't change it at all as far as I'm aware other than to just add a matching subwoofer rather than sell it individually.
