      As a side note I would definitely wait to get this version over the original because it includes the mini-expansions issued for the game over the years (all of them, I think, plus a new one that’s exclusive to this new version).

    Hi @spottheozzie, I've been trying to track down a copy of base Azul for ages but it's pretty much sold out or super expensive everywhere. Any idea whether there's a new print run soonish? I'm trying to expand my 2 player game collection and I've heard Azul is a good one. Love to hear your thoughts on the game as well, if you've played

      Have you given the new Azul a shot? Summer pavilion. Much prefer it over he original and unlike stained glass of Sintra it’s stays true to the original. Just more refined in my opinion. Also I play it mostly 2 player with my wife

        I actually haven't played any of the versions of Azul, I've just read it's super popular as a 2 player game (which is mostly how we play).

        What makes you prefer Summer Pavilion over the other versions?

          there a quite a few good comparisons on youtube of all 3 which might be worth watching before you decide on one. I was in the same boat though id played the original a few times. Decided i wanted to add one of them to my collection to also expand my 2 player games. Original azul is still a great game to pick up. Summer pavilion to me takes the best parts of it and refines it and adds its own spin.

          advantage of summer pavilion is it is available from multiple places including the OPs and is just as good as the original

I tend to pick up the 'original' version of games before getting sequals/newer themed versions, but I really should spend more time checking out the differences before I buy. Thanks for your help!

      Maatee! Azul, Azul, Azul! All three full editions of Azul are fantastic. The problem is everytime they come into Australia they sell out, which isn't usually a problem except for now because all the stock purchased now is with the AUD down (somewhat recovered, but still down).

      You can't go wrong with either edition in my opinion, and this game forever was folklore of fans who say X is better than Y, and Z is better than both but that's all personal preference. I've even heard some weird study that suggests you'll enjoy Summer Pavilion if you like mathematics? what.

      There's no update from the supply chain when this would be coming back in, Gumnut apparantly as it in at the moment for $108 + postage which works out to be $20 more but probably worth it (if they do indeed have it in stock) because we could be waiting a reaaalllyy long time.

      i had a thorough look around before buying last night and saw gamesparadise doing it for over $130. the value of this board game has decreased due to this sale and other stores are probably going to act on that and try to move stock as well so they don't get stuck with it. this is good for consumers.

      The bloody thing weighs 10kg..Actually I wouldn't necessarily call it a Co-Op game..I just got really excited when you said 'Gaming Group', because GloomHaven (if you're deep in the sauce of playing tabletop games) is the pinnacle. It's also one of the most expensive games as well =/ It's a story base game where you play somewhat of a campaign (usually best with 3-4 players)

          I would love to be able to replicate pricing of around 160ish / 170ish but at the moment it's currently under my purchase price which is reflective with how stores are now pricing it around $223.95 (Zing), $238 (popculta), etc. There's no ETA from the wholesaler on when they will receive more at the moment.

      Games Bandit did eventually get back to me. He has been so inundated with orders that he ran out of stock. I wanted the game for the lock down period, so waiting till at least the end of May was pointless to me. Refund quickly and easily received.

    It's Carcassone and 7 Wonders Duel which we ran out of - We are restocking this in end of May. It usually isn't an issue because we get stock frequently but the manufacturing is behind due to COVID. We will fulfil orders asap.

      Just some feedback. I collected my package today and I was very surprised to find that to ship a game across the country you had simply used some folded cardboard on each corner and a single layer of bubble wrap over the box. This really isn't going to stop impact damage to the game box should say the corner of a heavier box hit it centrally. There is a minor ding along one edge of the game box. -nothing at all to complain about - but I don't know how that was all the damage it took. I shouldn't feel 'lucky' and grateful that the postal system handled it delicately enough not to have more serious damage to the item, and I wouldn't order a game I knew was going to be sent that way.

        Thank you for your feedback.

        We did a lot of research on the topic of board game posting before making an ultimate decision to send 85% of our items with the current arrangement.

        Here me out how we came to that conclusion:

        We don’t like sending items in boxes because if the board game is in a box and it gets dropped on the corner that damage can/will be transferred to the board game.

        We do like using bubble wrap because it provides a little more protection and it allows the courier to visually see the item. There was a study in the US Postal service that came to a conclusion that if a courier can visibly see the contents they will are more careful with it. Bubble wrap in our opinion isn’t good enough by itself because the weakest point of any box is the corner, so we cut up cardboard strips to reinforce those points, but also with a long enough width that when the item rests it will be on the cardboard if not the bubble wrap.

        It would actually be way more efficient for us to just drop it into a box and post it, as opposed to cutting up a box, taping each individual corner and wrapping it. So we aren’t doing it to save time or money.

        We’ve only received positive feedback for the way we pack our items but we can definitely make specific arrangements on request.

        I’m an OCD freak myself. I hate to hear that the game has suffered any kind of damage. Please send me a picture so I can escalate it to the courier.
