Oh I am so sorry, I didn't see that.

  • Does anyone know if you can shave your head using this as well?

    • +3

You could painstakingly if you had the patience but not recommended. It's a smaller precision trimmer.

Note: Usual PSA on Wahl items, if it's made in China - send it back, not worth a penny. Only worth keeping if it's USA-made. Quality and longevity vary hugely. Also, there's much better products than Wahl anyway out there.

      • +1

        For $19?

        • Probably not. You get what you pay for.

      • +1

I thought Wahl is "top brand"? From what Google says anyway.

        • +1

The original USA-made ones can be, but past few years they moved some production to China with no quality control at all. The parts barely fit together, plastic mouldings with bits everywhere, paint not applied correctly or wears off after one use and motors that burn out quick.

I've had a similar one of these that was all silver while back, absolutely awful.

If you pop into a shop, you can find both variants and inspect the quality difference. The cheap ones aren't worth it at all.

          • @Hybroid: Okay, thanks for clarifying.

          • +1

@Hybroid: some of their models, especially the made in china, targeted at home use, have become a bit tricky for parts, e.g. new blades, and the length of a model in this user segment being on the market is shorter, but then, the blades for my made in usa bald clippers is $30 discounted just for the blades, and you need to buy them and fit and adjust them.
their cheaper made in china stuff is targeted more home use and at people who aren’t going to pay as much for new blades as the clippers cost, or the hassle of getting new blades, and if you like the size and use them, one day you might buy something more up market e.g $70 ones that do the same thing but are rechargeable lithium, and made in china, or their $120 made in usa rechargeable ones.

Oh yeah, just like iPhones. They're made in China trash ^_^

  • Can this be plugged into wall and recharged or AA batteries only? Btw thanks for sharing.

    • Pretty sure AA bateries only.

    • +1

nope. runs on AAs and thats it…this is the cheapest worst beard trimmer you can buy
buy a phillips 3000 or 5000 when on special…much better quality & durability

I own this exact clipper and use it every, 2 days to keep my beard trimmed. It comes with an adjustable comb so you can pick the length instantly.

    I LOVE it so much.

I had a remington before, actually 2 or 4 and I just thought beard trimmers were trash. Nope, this thing is amazing. Self sharpening. Solid and heavy. Fairly quiet.

It does eat batteries fairly quickly, but I knew that risk. I hate finding my rechargable items dead, I prefer AA's.

To get a month or two of trims out of them, I use Varta Lithium, which are closer to 1.6v, than 1.5 of regular alkaline. Makes a good difference.

When mine breaks, ill ve buying another exactly the same.

Amazing product with battery drain the only con.

Had a few of these over the years…. A very basic and plasticy trimmer, but works very well with a high oscelation speed.

After having many rechargable trimmers, I much prefer this because a single set of aa alkalines lasts me about a year. Rechargable trimmers kept losing their charge, and ultimately stopped charging altogether.

Not recommended for intimate areas, blades can be quite aggressive……. . so I've been told!! 🤥

This particular one comes with an adjustable comb. Set to 2mm, I've never cut myself yet. Gf likes.

      • I was using without a guard….good on most areas, bu Can be unforgiving in others, and tends to "bite"!

        • Any unguarded cutting device down there is silly friend :p

You probably want a foil razor.

I've got this model. Got it last time using the no minimum spend voucher. Works well for the price. I think mine cost me about $5 delivered if that.

    • Exactly, I figured just to post this because obviously for COVID-19 guys staying at home cutting their own hair…

But, if it was free shipping it would be perfect for that.

      • For guys in that boat, I just got the vs Sassoon super clip xtp. Holy wow!

Theyre suuuuper quiet, quality weight but not heavy, come with Combs up to 32mm (#10), and just are the nicest things I've bought in a long time.

Doing a 10 on top and an 8 on the sides/back, looks great for a safe diy haircut.

7000rpm and titanium blade really does make a difference over my older pair.

        • Thats sweet mate. Love the blue colour.

  • Can this be returned if opened used and it doesn't cut well enough?

    • +2

If it doesn't cut well enough, then a beard trimmer isnt for you.

This is by far one of the best ove owned, and if you use disposible lithiums for that extra 0.2v, is on another playing field.

      • +1

Thanks. May be I will find that trimmer I have been looking for all these years.
        Ordered one for pick up.

        • +1

Nice. I keep a 'stubble beard' at 4mm setting, so of cuts some reasonably coarse hair.

          Its easily $20 worth.

I tried quite a few before I found this.

          • @MasterScythe: Again thanks man. Appreciate it and looking forward to new experience for the good price.
