I subscribe to Youtube Premium and was able to listen to Youtube with the ios (iPhone) screen switched off. Since about last week, I find whenever I switch apps or activate lock screen, the YouTube app crashes….it's not that the app stops playing but actually crashes. This happens even if you were to switch out of the app momentarily.
I've updated ios and am on the latest version of YouTube.
Any help is much appreciated.
Yes. Erased, restarted phone and reinstalled. Hasn't worked
Okay well then another thing that I've found often resolves issues with apps randomly crashing is to try resetting your network settings.
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

@Amaris: Your best bet is to contact the support team through the app. They can pull up why the app is crashing. Also make sure background app refresh is on.

I’ve chatted to them and they’re also not sure what’s going on. The agent has escalated the case. 🤞🏽
Have you tried deleting the app and reinstalling it rather than simply updating it?
