Good price, these are around $8-9 RRP at the supermarkets.

  • Antibacterial and antifungal are great, although what we need now is antiviral.

Just a word of warning if you have sensitive skin, that the active ingredient benzalkonium chloride, in these types of laundry additives may cause irritation or even dermatitis. I went to see my doctor and after months he referred me to a dermatologist, whose first question to me was so you use Dettol in your laundry? I said no, but I use Canesten and he said there you go that's the culprit.

    • Same problem here, I don't have sensitive skin and barley get allergy but this bad guy gave me serious dermatitis.

    • Thanks for the link, good to know as it is also in the new PineoClean laundry sanitiser. Wonder what is better for skin and kills bugs? Any suggestions for alternatives?

      • Regular soap (soap flakes) kills most germs, and destroys most common viruses.

All you need is a strong surfactant with a high pH.

Having said that, the main reason to use this stuff IMHO is for its anti fungal/sporicidal properties. Plenty of weird fungi and spores can survive laundry soap.

    • so is Dettol okay?
