Insurance wanting a receipt.

I had some furniture roughly two years old which was damaged and insurance company wants receipts which I don’t have just wondering what I can do.

Comments

  • credit card statement, proof of the same product for sale. etc

  • Don’t have statement and have sent them photos of furniture and the exact same thing from the shop with price etc

    • Imagine needing proof of purchase, how dare they.

    • There are more imitation furniture than there are originals.

Lookalike furniture are a fraction of the price.

The insurer isn't going to replace laminated chipboard with solid cherry.

The store you bought it from might have a copy of the receipt - try contacting them and see if they can email you a copy

    • This.
I needed a receipt from Ikea, so I could give it to Ikea for a warranty claim. After I told them the date of the purchase, the store and the total spend they emailed me a copy.

just wondering what I can do.

What did the say you could provide or do instead when you asked your insurance company?

  • They need to know the amount of the claim
Usually they ask you to find something similar and submit it with your claim
