    • Anyone having trouble getting the Crashlands store page to load up? Progress bar keeps going but just repeats itself

      • +2

        worked fine for me

  • +3

Make it Death Stranding and I'll think about it 😃

    • +2

I enjoyed Death Coming a lot more than I enjoyed Death Stranding.

      • +1

Fair. Try Stranding during Corona. Good game for iso

This was fun little game. Recommended++ :)

I hear Epic Game Store will do 2FA (2 factor authentication) soon, required to get freebies.

    • +2

Just do it, safer for you. I did it yesterday.

      • It's not for safety, it's to stop people from reselling accounts that have amassed games over time. Apparently people will pay for games if they don't know if/when the games are free again.

        • +2

You can remove 2Factor, then sell it, the other guys will add 2Factor again. That's it.

          • +1

@taron: Oh well. They should just give away a free skin or game for 2FA users if they want to encourage it

    • +2

Not for everyone, only randomly. I could log in as normal.

    • No doubt they will sell your mobile number to 3rd parties

      • +1

If you are really worried about that get a $2 sim just for those things. Problem solved.

        • +2

I've got Epic's 2FA account on Authy, I've never given them my mobile.

Besides, I think you only need 2FA ENABLED, not to open your app each time

    • +1

I hope they don't, I quit steam simply because logging in and doing anything was becoming too much trouble.

  • +1

Death Coming? why not Death Stranding?

    Note:

Next week is a Mystery game (due to lack of details no post possible). I will keep you updated and post as soon as details become available. Hopefully it will be a big game or a combo of games like the Batman games last year.

Looks like Epic now requires 2FA to claim the free games…

    • +3

Yep, thankfully they accept email and don't want an app or our phone number.

  • +1

No more Epic Games for me then, I really hate being forced to use 2FA.

I left some feedback, if anyone else doesn't like this more leave some feedback too:

Just use the email verification. Not really that big a deal. If they forced phone/SMS then I could understand your frustration.

    • +5

Let me guess you have one password for everything, probably written down on a sticky note and wonder why you keep getting hacked. While your Epic account is unlikely important to you, in general 2FA is important to protecting your online accounts.

      • +3

Bad guess, my password for almost everything is unique and randomly generated, similar to N1|B&;N!@=YH!1&./^@s

I keep them stored in KeePass, which is secured by a password of 60 or so random letters and numbers that only exists in my head.

While 2FA can be important, I don't appreciate being forced to use it on entertainment platforms.

Having the option and promoting it is great. Forcing it on me will likely just make me stop using the service.

    2FA sms not coming through…

    • +3

Try e-mail. Worked as it should for me.

  • Sorry, new to Epic here. Is it a safe platform?

    • +3

      Yes.

    • I'm not sure what you mean by safe. The Epic game manager has a very clean, but clunky interface. Nice large text and images when viewing in 4K. There's no interfering features (like ATI forcing their garbage gaming interface on users).

  • +1

Before playing the game the T&C states that the "Hong Kong-based game company retains all your information to use as they like".

It was a bit weird as its the "updated T&C" probs updated after game became free?

    • +3

Read Facebook etc. terms and conditions.
They have had similar terms for many years now and no one seems to care or get upset.

      • True dat.

  • +1

Tried to enable 2FA multiple times with Google Authenticator and but the code kept failing. Tried with Email 2FA, also failed.

Has this happened to anyone else?

    • I was able to sign up using the manual code on my 2FA app fine. At what stage was yours failing?

      • Failed after scanning the QR code and trying to verify that my TOTP is correct. Using Google Authenticator. Same thing happened with Email 2FA.

        • Hmm, could be an issue with your session. Could try logging out and in again.

    • Had no issues using Authy

  • Thanks OP!
