Wanting to Buy a PC from TechFast or recommendations for alternatives

Was looking to buy a pc was tossing up between 5700xt and 2070 super, budget around $1300 willing to go over if its good. Any recommendations for complete builds? Was looking for a techfast deal but all ended, is there any way of contacting the rep seeing if any will come out soon.

    Expect long delays though.

It's hard to see where techfast are beaten on value.

I know you've probably been told this before but it's very easy to build PCs and you should definitely consider building it yourself. You will probably pay more than a Techfast PC though.

It really is a case of something seeming impossible to some people but after you've done it just just one time you won't find it daunting anymore. From that point you can upgrade stuff yourself.

  • I built a 2070 Super/Ryzen 3600 Build for about $1500 before Coronavirus with the below. If you skimp on a few things you could easily hit $1300 - Maybe wait for a sale though

    Ryzen 3600 + Stock Cooler
    MSI B450 Tomahawk Max
    16gb Trident Z RGB RAM 3200mhz
    Gigabyte 2070 Super Gaming OC
    Corsair 220T Case
    Seasonic 650W Focus Gold PSU
    Asus Wifi Card
    Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500gb

So if you went cheaper on Case - Thermaltake Versa H17/18
Ram - Something like Corsair Vengeance non RGB
Cheaper B450 motherboard - Would still recommend B450 because of upgrade for the future (or wait for B550)
Throw in a Coolermaster PSU bronze or similar
    Crucial SSD

Should easily be able to hit the target post coronavirus.

Then also if you grab one of those 1600AF CPU's for now that would go alright to if you're just gaming.

    • I couldn't find any 2070 supers for under 800 were there any deals on them?

You do realise that prices have exploded since COVID? 2070 Super ALONE is $950. Your build comes in at over $2000 today, if you could even find stock of many of those things

hence "Post Coronavirus" and "wait for a sale"

Same here, been waiting for a week for new deals from techfast. Even the same budget range. I've been told to hold on to the upgrades from techfast? People are saying you may not get what you selected to upgrade? Not really sure, I may only upgrade power supply as well as SDD.

    • I read that apparently there is gonna be a flood of the 20 series GPUs might hold off for a sale because tech fast seems a bit expensive

  • Look at this for a base and add GPU

    https://www.scorptec.com.au/bundle/CPU/AMD-Socket-AM4/734-36…

I recommend a 2060 or 2070 with that. AMD GPUs always seem to have driver issues from my experience.

Building a pc is super easy.

almost all PC parts shops in Australia seem to have massive amounts of products out of stock, I imagine techfast is having the same problems sourcing their parts as well. If you do need a PC now then I would suggest building yourself(or finding a friend), techfast is great value but even in the best of times you will be waiting 3 weeks and end up with a restrictive motherboard, unreliable psu and a case with poor cooling limiting the performance of your gpu. For an alright 5700xt/3600 build with parts that are in stock I would estimate around $1500-1600.

    • Might just wait one or two weeks and see if anything new pops up
