Weber Original 57cm Premium Black Charcoal Kettle BBQ

Hello guys,

I have a quick little question for bbq masters around.

I am looking at buying the classic Weber premium kettle 57cm bbq and I am hesitant.

I found two different models in the market. The US import sold by Catch at $365 after discounts and the aussie version of it K14201024 sold by appliancesonline for $379. Both delivered.

Now the question is, would these go cheaper??! and are there any differences other than the warranty?!

Thanks everyone!

Regards

  • If that's the weber premium $365 or $379 is a great price. I've looked at appliances online just now and the price is $419… which is lower than most places already. There's no difference between the aussie and US one as far as I researched about 1.5 yrs ago.

    • Thanks dassaur for your quick comment. I got the quote from appliancesonline 3 days ago.

  • I think the usa version is missing the book and charcoal baskets.
Other than that they are the same, both come from China via Chicago.

    • Thanks Stewardo. Is that price for real? $299 is amazing. But maybe by the time you add the baskets and the manual you are near the $379.

    • Correct. I didnt notice that.

They are handy but personally I use a slow n sear!

      • Thanks for the help dassaur

    • USA doesn't have the hinged grate either I believe.

  • You don’t need the Australian cookbook, the baskets handy but not essential if you buy a chimney. Think shipping would be on top of the $299

    • cool, thanks for the help.

  • 2nd hand

    • Yeah I agree, if you’ve never owned one before, the ones made before 2000,
which you can pick up 2nd hand, were much better quality and are a good place to start.

      • Yeah 2nd hand is definitely the go with Weber's especially if you're just starting out in BBQ. I paid $200 for mine which is a bit but it was in mint condition and like you've said I've heard reports from many on the Weber FB group that quality has declined in recent years.

    • +1

Agree with this. I picked up a second hand Weber kettle for $150 that was in great condition, just needed a solid clean. It came up looking brand new. Came with a coal chimney and bag of coals too. Saved several hundred which allowed me to spend more on accessories that Ive invested in as I learned more and expanded my cooking. Careful though, several months later I now own a Weber Smokey mountain 18 too lol. And those were both on top of the family q I already had. Next up will be a GA.

  • Thanks everyone for your inputs!
