Hmm, considering the NEW Netgear products, NeoTV 350 and NeoTV 550 are $115 and $155, respectively, and appear to have more features, how is this a bargain for a discontinued product?

Reposting my comment from the last time this so called bargain was posted http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/50613#comment-556553

"Buyer beware. I have one of these that I purchased over a year ago. In it's day it was a reasonable player but not any more. This model is now End of Life and Netgear are no longer releasing updates for it.

"Play your files stored on your PC" is no longer true as Netgear didn't release a firmware update for this model to match a Windows security update. It does still however play from NAS devices.

If you are thinking of buying one of these I suggest you look at the official Netgear forum http://forum1.netgear.com/forumdisplay.php?f=99 (notice the lack of activity)

Personally, based on my experience and considering the age of this unit (released over 2 years ago and now discontinued) I wouldn't pay more than $50."

    Edited to add.

Oh, and a -ve from me since you are still claiming it can play files from a pc when it was pointed out last time you posted that this is no longer true.
