Is Shipping from China Still Slow Due to Covid19?

People reported weeks ago that shipping phones/tablets from China were badly affected by COVID19.

I thought cargo was unimpeded, and now China has covid19 under control?

Are shipping times still heavily delayed? Especially for Banggood.

I bought from Aliexpress a couple of weeks ago. Only took a week to arrive.

Yes I think Banggood is another kettle of fish, you never know if its even going to arrive or not from my experience dealing with them.

    I have been waiting 6 weeks…

Depends on the carrier used to deliver it to Australia. Auspost are being overwhelmed and have announced delays in shipping.

  • Commercial flights arent really operating at the moment.

  • I have 4 orders from AliExpress made on different dates:

    • March 11
    • March 16
    • March 23
    • April 5

None of them have arrived yet… wonder how much more I need to wait.

I have one from January still in transit. Support said to contact after the 10th and they'll take action at least.

Should have learned not to buy from Orico the first time when they gave me a fake tracking number and only bothered to send after 2 months when Ali stepped in.

I thought they were reputable? Surprised they did a dodgy one!

The brand is but whoever is running the AliExpress stores certainly aren't. I think they're cheaping out on their shipping method.

  • DHL is extremely fast. Especially from America ATM. Ordered some vitamins off iherb Monday and arrived today

  • My EMS package was shipped on the 13th of March, still hasn't reached AusPost yet.

    seems pretty random

I have ordered a few things on ebay from China lately, most have arrived within a few weeks to a month max, one still hasn't arrived after two months (the seller refunded me)

  • I had one from January turn up yesterday. :)

I am now very reluctant to order from Aliexpress, I have had a number of items refunded for non delivery, going back before January (still waiting on January order). Covid issues has made me more patient, but its ridiculous and a crap shoot as to getting the goods. Ebay from China seems far more reliable

Shipping times will be inconsistent and also impacted by where you live.

The main issue is lack of commercial flights.

DHL have their own fleet which protects them somewhat but as a result everyone is trying to use them. Toll use commercial and I believe are chartering flights but it's still a bit of a lottery as flights get cancelled causing delays for the goods to get rebooked.

If you're in WA or SA there's also very few direct flight options. So a LOT of deliveries are being routed into Melbourne and then redistributed.

    • So Melbourne should be pretty OK?

  • Merged from Current Air Shipping Times from China

Does anyone have information on the current state of air freight from China? My son has an item shipped in February with the last action as in Transit at Air Freight terminal in Beijing exactly 2 months ago. Is there anyone who has read or heard information on how close things are to normal in China to Australia freight? Just looking for information (a link if someone has it) not a lecture on giving shippers a fair shake in the current climate.
    Regards

It depends what kind of mail service is used.

I get regular EMS shipments from China from my buyer, one took 3 weeks and the other a week and a half. Both went to Melbourne first and then by Aussie Post to Sydney. It seems air cargo space is quite limited these days.

2 months sounds excessive but as it was February and whole China was in lockdown it may just be that?

Package from mainland China arrived today and the postmark date on it is the 13th March, so that took just under 2 months to arrive.

I have 2 items from late Feb
One from China one from the US
    Both standard economy shipping
    Both yet to arrive
