Withings / Nokia Steel HR Smart Watch (Rose Gold/Grey) $169 +Delivery (was $339) @ JB Hi-Fi

420

Good price for a decent hybrid watch with long battery life (not sure if it's the cheapest it's been..) that also tracks sleep and heart rate. GPS tracking is done via the HealthMate companion app.

JB's website says limited stock, so it may be prudent to call your local store to confirm.

I believe the quality of the watch is worth this price. Screen scratches easily, screen is way too small for notifications etc. Vibration motor is extremely weak also. HR seems to be kinda accurate, but delayed, and steps/distance is widely inaccurate.

    • kinda accurate

      That's not a thing.

The sleep tracking is a scam as well.

      • This one is a bit of hit and miss I have to say. It's always difficult to keep the watch on the same position and if you're putting it on too tight, you may get a skin irritation.

I find the vibration motor on mine very strong. The alarm sometimes wakes my partner up next to me!

Watch has to be worn reasonably tight for heart rate measurement to work well I've found.

Otherwise I'm very happy with it. Does a good enough job as a fitness tracker while looking like a watch, battery is great, bands are easy to change and is water resistant

I have this. I disagree with most of the comment except the vibration motor is indeed rather weak but for a purpose I think. The screen will scratch if you deliberately bumping it but mine is still without scratch. The Distance I have manually measured it and proved to be correct. The steps however tend to be on the underside vs FitBit but that's because I think Fitbit is grossly overstating it.

As an example, my wife's fitbit measured 4,000 steps+ 2 days ago when we're mostly at home. Withings Steel HR? 900 so I know which to believe.

I wonder if this is because ScanWatch is coming out?

    • Good point! Has anyone come across any recent updates from Withings on the release date?

  • Hmmm I was hoping to get an upgrade on my Amazefit Bip which I've now had for 2 years.

This one fits the bill in almost every way but if the step counter is widely inaccurate then I'll give it a miss.

My experience shows its on the low side. You will feel that you have done more than it registers but I feel this is more reflective of reality.

I tested it a number of times and yes, mild swing or step sometimes don't register. It has to be firm steps or hand swings (not violent) for it to register.
