What happens if something goes wrong? Do Dyson in Australia honour the warranty ?

    • +2

No they won't. That would be a slap in the face to their biggest and most valuable customers, the retailer of their products.

      • +4

        Not worth the risk then.

Purchase with caution both because it is Toby deals (ordered from them twice. Once it was cancelled after several weeks, the other took months to arrive), and Dyson Australia actually has a local service centre that provides a pretty valuable service.

The reason I buy a Dyson is predominantly the warranty and after warranty support. Grey imports do not qualify.

My advice - request for a moderator to remove your comment as you are demonstrating that you do not even read the communications and just paste a scripted response.

In this case, your scripted response is irrelevant and extremely embarrassing.

Thanks tshow! Your experiences have helped me make a quick decision - NO. I’ll wait for Dyson Australia to put up a promo.

@Eisa01: I think the most damaging thing was not my review. It was OP's response.

          Dear tshow,

          Thank you for your message.

I am very sorry to read about your advice.

For the correct procedure to assist you with this, could you please create an RMA ticket on our website to contact them.

After you have created this ticket, we suggest you remove the battery from your Dyson and upload a video of you doing so.

This should solve your problem that you have not advised us of.

Grey import, but very good price!
There aren't any stores that would price match this, would there? I thought Officeworks now match grey imports, but they don't sell Dyson.

Dyson batteries die after about 3 years, motors last 4-5. Tempting price but warranty on these sorts of items can be important, maybe if your credit card gives extended warranty could make it safe.

Yup. Changed our my V6 battery and it works better than the slightly newer (still a couple of years old) V7 at work.

  • Having had awesome (no questions asked, next day express shipping, etc) Dyson customer support in replacing a dead battery on a costly device, best to wait for a legit 20% sale (such as TGG) before dropping this amount of money.

Hi everyone, I had a Miele C3 for a couple of years and recently purchased the Dyson V11. I must tell you it is a let down in terms of suction power, but the biggest drawback and total deal breaker is the way you open the cleaner to dispose of the collect dirt/dust. A large percent just scatters randomly everywhere when you open the dirt compartment, no matter how slow or careful you are. Unless you can do this in your backyard, the convenience factor is just not worth it when it comes to this.

    • Both vacuums are on my radar and I was leaning towards the Miele C3. I'm on the right track in your opinion?

  • FWIW I've had a brush head replaced under warranty on my V10 which was purchased on amazon US. YMMV.

  • Hi,
Like highon2str, does anyone else have any first hand experience of purchasing a Dyson product from overseas and then having to make a claim through Dyson Australia? If so, would you kindly tell us of your experience with Dyson Australia.

Is the Dyson warranty an international warranty, where a service centre in another country, separate to the country of purchase, may have to complete a warranty fix?

    Thank you for your help.
    Kind regards,
    Raindear

  • Still waiting 4 weeks for a tracking number on a phone listed as 'In Stock'. They ignore every single contact attempt. Avoid at all costs, they're muppets.

Store rep also ignores messages on Ozbargain.

  • If there are warranty concerns then it can't be a good deal.

  • I order 2 weeks ago, my deliver is not moving over one week at the same location.

Is this just a fake trade?
