Buyer beware - if you have audiophile tendencies, you may notice the infamous metallic reverb that Astro apply with their Dolby sound processing.

    • Agree they're not for everyone, but they definitely do have their fans! Have been using a pair of Gen 2 for the last 5 years and the mic plastic is only just starting to break. Next pair of console wireless headphones will probably be Arctis, but I know there's others that swear by them

      • After returning my Astro A50, I got a cheap Arctis 3 and overall it's a far better headset, for way less than half the price.

They are also not very good quality, I have had two Astros in the past - one being Astro A50 Gen2, both of them the rubber goes all sticky.
On Xbox, there's echo whenever I join a party chat.
    I'm looking at changing headsets.

Uncertain if these will work on next gen consoles either. Buyer beware.

Can't imagine it would work with the Xbox Series X as it doesn't have optical out.

For PC these are my goto! Game/Voice mix channel is an extremely under appreciated feature, the comfort is amazing and sounds great for gaming. Not so great is the magnetic charging - takes some practice to get it just right & sometimes they do unpair but this is rare (holding game and dolby for 20sec to hard reset fixes it).

At full price there a rip but this promo is very decent!

I bought the Gen 3s when they first dropped. I love them but I'm not an audiophile. They're comfortable, last a surprisingly long time whilst playing and chatting. You can also charge through USB if they start to get low whilst you're playing. I had a problem where I sounded like a robot when I first got them but a firmware update fixed that easily. Great price!

  • I bought these and had to take them back for 2 reasons.

The mic needs to use the USB port on the Xbox, and the cable really isn't that long (most other headsets plug into the controller which is wireless).
That USB port on the Xbox is not grounded properly, so it gives a constant high pitched noise to everyone that can hear you. Given the other issue, it's useless for it's intended purpose.
