Looks good for the price. I'm looking at building a cheap pc for my young fella to play some games. Gta v, rust and fortnite. This should be ok for those games at 1080p?

    • +2

That will be no problem. I had a gtx 960 2gb that could play those games on high-ish settings @ 1080p, 60 fps.
      I found a cool chart: https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/RRvrfJPy2ThrRKEZXqxeoA-650…
The 1650 super manages 60 fps on average across 11 games on Ultra settings @ 1080p
A 1660 Ti is about 30% better in terms of average FPS, but it's also 50% more expensive.

    • +1

Yep those games will play perfectly fine at 1080P.

    • yea perfect for a 1080P system,

    • Good price.. no Zero RPM on this version just so people know. The Fans are on the whole time. Even at idle.. the Galax 1660 version has zero RPM .. not the 1650

      • Is there a problem with the fans turning off?

      • +1

why not manually set the fan curve to do the same thing?

    • Just a warning. Latest updates on Fortnite are really graphics intensive. Even my 1080 isn't always perfectly smooth.

  • +6

I wish the low profile edition was this price

    • +13

The 1650 Super basically matches the RX580 in gaming and is 15-20% faster than the RX 570.

  • +1

is it a low profile card? can i put it in to my Hp elitedesk 800 g1 and turn it to basic gaming pc?

    • +3

      No and no.

    • If you don't mind a whacking with the back and no side panel, then buy a sata power cable

  • this looks actually really good just to have something until the next gens come out later this year

    • Given the situation, the entry tier new gen cards might come out a bit later or even next year

  • Damn, I need a shorter single fan (not low profile) 1650 super at this price for my daughter's ITX PC :(

  • Its only 30 units at this price so will be hard to get for anyone who wants one.

Cheap card.. No idle Fan stop, very basic cooling without heatpipes.

You get a good performing card at a cheap price and thats it.

    • I've got one of these cards and it definitely seems to have copper heat pipe that passes out from near where the GPU die would be. Also it runs at perfectly fine temperatures because it definitely isn't a proper powerhouse GPU like a 5700 XT or RTX series card

  • +1

Nice my RX470 just blow up last week, 1650 super seem like a pretty good budget replacement for me.

Decent alternative to the above deal,

GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1650 Windforce OC 4G Graphics Card, 2X Windforce Fans, 4GB 128-Bit GDDR5, Gv-N1650WF2OC-4GD Video Card

$266.02 if you have prime. Comes from Amazon US.

    • +4

      standard 1650? Definitely not.

    • The non-SUPER version of the GTX 1650 in that amazon link is significantly slower than the SUPER variant posted here https://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/2572?vs=2571

Despite the similar naming they are quite different GPUs see https://www.anandtech.com/show/15090/the-nvidia-geforce-gtx-…

      • Ah, no worries. You are right, it's not as good a card for sure.

I bought 1 for to use in a htpc, so not really using the gaming side of the card.

Could have gone for a 1030, but wanted to cover as many hvec profiles as possible.

    • THAT CARD is more then 50% SLOWER then the 1650 Super :) worst deal you could go for.. please don't post REALLY bad advice.

      • Sorry, didn't realise that the OP was a super card.

        • This is a good alternative for those who want ITX sized 1650 Super $288.15 Delivered with coupon code PBOLT15 From shopping express Ebay store :) ( same store here )

MSI GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER AERO ITX OC 4GB GDDR6 Graphics Video Card DP HDMI DVI + free 10,00mha Battery charger
          https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MSI-GeForce-GTX-1650-SUPER-AERO-…

  • Will this card run two 4K monitors at 60Hz? Not looking to do anything graphics intensive, a work/productivity PC. Monitors have DP and HDMI and this card only has 1 or each.

    • Yes it will.

You just need a displayport connection and a hdmi 2.0 connection on the card to do that.

      A cheaper geforce 1030, 1050 can also run 4k 60hz.
Just get a card with hdmi 2.0 used or new.
AMD RX 550, 460 or newer cards also have hdmi 2.0

Those are the cheapest cards to get :)

  • Would this work well for WarThunder flight sim VR (HTC vive or similar)?

    • +2

Dont think this card can do VR. You need at least a 1660 super or RX 5600 xt

And they are pretty over priced at the moment along with all tech

  • Showing as $279 now… Sold out?

    • +1

Read it again 9 to 10pm

      • Ahhh… Thanks

(So I have ALMOST no chance of getting it then :)

        • There is still a chance hopefully finger crossed

  • Can someone explain Nvidias naming scheme to me.. like my 1080 would wipe the floor of this card, but this is called the 1650.. like trying to understand the logic here.

    • I guess because its effectively as 2050 but 2000 series cards have. RTX where this one doesn't

  • Do these require PCEI power cables or do they run off the PCIE slot? What PSU wattage is needed for this?

    • Power connector on the end of the card rather than the side (case height restrictions).

  • I would rather go for 1660 super for $379 with free shipping

    https://rosmancomputers.com.au/galax-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1660…

    • the link shows $399

      • it was definitely 379 when i first clicked it

  • Deal has started, it's at $229 now.

  • Price still showing 279 :(

  • Well played everyone

  • 1% Surcharge + $11.30 shipping brings it to $242.70

  • Managed to snag one… A bit annoyed at the last minute $13 in fees, but still can't complain with the card for $242.70.

    Thanks y'all!

    • How did you get it? Did you hover over the page and then refresh or did you have it in cart and refresh the cart? Thanks.

  • thanks OP was lucky enough to grab one!

  • never saw the price change. must have missed it

    • thanks, same error as below though. looks like they gone :(

  • I managed to get one, thanks guys. Now to build a cheap pc around this for my young fella. Probably go with the new cheap amd chips that are coming out soon.

    • when? At 9:03 for me it was out of stock

    • What are you thinking?

I'm trying to work our if the 1600AF would bottle neck this or not.
This is clearly for casual games, and I'm pretty sure the 1600AF would handle most of those pretty easily

… But I do want a new Ryzen 2, so may end up caving in and getting the 3600 (What's the -X model add?)

      • +1

The Ryzen 5 1600 AF would not bottleneck this card, I've got a RTX2060 6GB and Ryzen 5 1600 AF and the performance is amazing

      • +1

I'm thinking the new Ryzen 3 3100. Need to do a bunch of research though as i havent built a computer in a few years so need to see what i need to get. I presume i need a motherboard that works with that cpu. Some ram, power supply and a hard drive. Using this graphics card. Should end up being a decent little computer for the young fella to use. If anyone has any advice for me i'd love to hear it. :)

        • +1

Depends on what your use case is…

With that little graphics card (roughly equiv of a RX580 or GTX1060 6GB) they'll all be fine, it is just your exact use case and your "future proofing" thoughts might lead you one way or another

Just gaming the 3300X is slightly dearer than the 3100 but quite a bit better than both the 3100 and the R5 1600AF in older/simpler games due to less latency from the single CCX (long story on what that means, but simply it how the cores are grouped in Ryzens).

If you need more threads (core heavy games like Assassins Creed series, new Tomb Raider, BF V, or rendering or encoding) the R5 1600AF (really a rebadged 2600) is the go.

If you're on a tight budget and can't stretch the extra the 3300X or (possibly) 1600AF costs over the 3100, then 3100 is plenty fine - it'll still crap on anything old. You can't really go wrong, just more right depending on your exact use case.

Basically the 3300X is like an old i7 7700K with no over-clocking, and the 3100 is like a slightly weaker version of that again, while the 1600AF is more cores but less grunt per core.

Yes you need motherboard, RAM etc - B450 is kinda the cost/performance sweet spot, but won't support the upcoming Ryzen 4000 series if upgrades are important to you, you could only go bigger 3000 series chips. MSI B450 Tomahawk Max is highly recommended for a good, do anything B450 board. A cheaper option I have experience with that has limited over-clocking ability and no headroom for more than 8 core CPUs would be the ASRock B450 Pro4 series.

A 16GB kit of DDR4-3200 (2x8G) would be the go, Ryzens need dual channel to not suck and you save practically nothing going 8GB dual channel vs 16GB dual channel. Faster RAM is in theory better for Ryzen 3000, but it is the sort of thing you'll see in a synthetic benchmark and not notice real world, but if you go a 3100 or 3300X and find a good price DDR4-3600 16G kit no reason not to get it - any faster than that is a no-no with how Ryzen memory management works unless you are manually tweaking the memory settings. The 1600AF you wouldn't go past DDR4-3200 anyway as they struggle to run much faster.

          Hope this helps

          • @smashman42: Thanks so much for that info mate. Will definitely take that on board. Not really too fussed on huge upgrades in the future so will look for a cheaper motherboard. But thanks for the info regarding the ram as well. Very helpful. On a pretty tight budget so trying to cut costs as much as i can. :).

    • How did you get it? Did stay on the page and refresh until price dropped or did you have it in cart already and refresh from the cart? Looking to get the 2070s and don't wanna miss out.

      • +1

I actually had the graphics card in my cart already and was refreshing that. And it ended up going down to the sale price in there. I didn't see the price change at all on the website though. No idea if that will work for you but that's what i did.

        • Perfect thank you so much will give it a go tonight… Also it's in 9pm brisbane time?

  • For reference - here is a chart on the mean fps
