  Wish this came in sapphire crystal. Have a nighthawk and the only thing that wore really bad was the mineral glass.

    Yep my daily driver is a circa 2007 Ti euro nighthawk (with sapphire) and it still looks like new.

    Sapphire glass is actually less impact resistant than ordinary mineral glass despite being harder to scratch. There's an inverse relationship between scratch resistance and impact resistance when it comes to sapphire glass, meaning the higher the grade and mineral hardness of sapphire glass and the more scratch resistant it is, the less impact resistant it will be.

    When you have a watch like this that doesn't have a recessed face where the glass is flush with the bezel, it makes a lot more sense to opt for mineral glass because it's much easier to hit the glass directly, as opposed to a watch where the glass is sunken by a few millimetres into a chunky bezel that's designed to deflect impacts away from the watch face.

      You speak the truth regarding impact and scratch resistance. But in the real world, do you ever hear about people shattering or cracking their watch crystals? I've got a few high domed and top hat crystals and they've stood up to plenty of abuse and knocks. I have though scratched one sapphire and shattered a highly curved mineral crystal that I dropped on a driveway.

      I owned one of these Nighthawks for a few years. Without a bezel the crystal is pretty wide and I was fairly cautious. Never got a mark on it though.

        I was about to say the same thing. Never in my life have I shattered a watch crystal, but I've scratched a lot!

        I used a nighthawk for a long times as a daily driver. I wasn't careful of mindful. It's a watch and the last thing on my mind during the day.
        It was a perfect companion except for the whole face covered in scratches.
        It still looked good. Until you looked a little closer and it looked old, tired and stratched up.
        My sapphire glass on the other hand does not have this issue.

      Still doesn't translate to what I prefer in a daily driver.

  Damn, just bought the BJ7006-56L from Starbuy earlier this week for $269. Lovely watch though….sounds ridiculous but tempted to buy it again in the leather strap version! (BJ7007-02L)

    The bracelet has solid end-links and is good quality. You made the right choice, if you want the choice of leather buy a separate leather band later.

      I think you're right actually. Buying the metal strap alone would probably cost more than the ~$50 difference between the two models.

      It is a decent quality bracelet for the price. As in entry-mid level Seiko bracelets. Super comfy though. Endlinks are annoying to fit. I always get the SS bracelet. They are always ridiculously priced on their own.

    The warranty card should be inside the box where the manual would have been. To claim the warranty make sure you keep the invoice.Also, Citizen does not give watch manuals anymore. Watch Manuals can be found on Citizens website.
