i was trying to decide between 95% (made in USA), 90% (made in Germany) and 85% (made in France). went with the 85% in the end.

Lindt really need to offer 86/91/96 varieties for those who need that little bit extra.

Yes, the Spinal Trap Lindt, would be very special Chocolate.

          • @Crownanchor: Seriously though, I don't know how anyone can eat that super dark stuff. To me, 78% tastes about perfect. Anything that's 85 or above tastes much too sour for me.

The higher the %, the less the weight. eg. 90 or 95% is not 100g.

  • Same price at big w.

Has anyone tried the new Old Gold range (Cherry Ripe, Caramel etc)? Was half price at Coles. I'll maybe buy it at the end of the weekly cycle. Best thing about the Covid-19 hoarding episode was having less impressive junk food specials.

Yes, at $2.50, gave it a try a few days ago, the new Cherry Ripe, and the Almond one. The cherry ripe was like the Coconut Rough with Cherry pieces, not sure that I would call it a Cherry Ripe version, and some of the Cherry Ripes are so much more impressive, such as the Ganche or double coated or is it dark Chocolate version?

Thanks. The dilution effect observed reminds me of those blocks with potato and corn chips in them (or I guess the milk chocolates with other chocolates in them :)).

I didnt get to try the Kettle chips in chocolate, it sounded aweful and the reviews for this product were terrible. I did try the Smiths Lamington chips and this was so bad, i think it was such a bad failure that production stopped and it was removed from supermarkets very quickly, the kettle chocolate lasted a lot longer. The Old Gold Cherry Ripe is not too bad in comparison.

Sorry it's not meant to be critical. Just my opinion

  • For some reason the no sugar variety is never included in the regular discounts… (I am not associated but cannot uncheck the box FYI).

    • Probably a good thing. I don't want to be near people with angry digestive systems

  • Walked into Woolies and straight back out again last night. It was packed and bedlam, plus a quick look at the empty bakery area and sparse veg section, Christmas Eve eat ya heart out. These shops must be loving that they got Mothers Day shopping in.

The Lindt 85% bars are the healthiest out of them all (even more so than the 90 and 99%) Its the only bar in their line that DOSENT go through a ductching "alkalizing" process and keeps all of the phytonutrients that natural dark chocolate has.
