Is It Safe to Use a 250v Adaptor for a 220-240v Electrical Device?

Hi,

So recently I pulled out my imported PS2 slim from Singapore and wanted to have a round of retro gaming. However, I noticed that the device accepts 220v - 240v and the adaptor I have (an Australian not but not part of the package) is 250v. So is it safe to use this voltage since I know most Australian appliances are using 240v? Thanks.

Kind regards.

    • Yes as above - covers the 220-240 volt range.

I think the PS2 Slim PSU gets dropped down to 8.5V DC anyway. 240-250 VAC is just the input that the PSU accepts.

  • Ok thanks guys so the answers I'm getting is that my playstation 2 will be fine and it won't start short-circuiting hey? :)

Yes. 250V is just 240V with a margin of error.
