Damn thats a lot for only 60W..

I'm not sure you understand how much light 60W is for an LED diode. Thats 2000 lumens, or roughly 150W for a regular bulb (but probably more). Looking directly at the diode would cause eye damage, which is why it has an (ugly) diffused covering to spread the light.

This lamp would make a very large room feel like day time and would easily replace 10-20 regular bulbs. Probably useful for a big hall, multi-care garage, large outdoor area, etc.

    • Well Cant really compare it with an IP rated 60w flood light- but yes that a lot in the general field of lights. lighting area of 35m2 too - so you cant say that it really bright as it only rated for a 6x6 max. (my lounge is 9x8 square i would nearly need two of these $1072)

Not quite sure its a bargain, but its in a field of its own.

Can't find any details of this product on the hue website. Seems incredibly overpriced.

  • +1

I don't think this is an actual Hue product - just Hue bridge compatible. This is misleading.

I can't find this product on their website, or anything near to the design. It doesn't fit the Hue "aesthetic".

    • it is from Philips Hue, not just compatible. the code is 61037, comes with a Hue dimmer switch.

      • +3

        Could you clarify further please?
The only Philips Hue Ceiling Lamp Apogee I can find directly from Philips is this which seems to match with this from your site.
I cannot find any information on this one other than aliexpress which isn't exactly reassuring.

        • Looks like it's not meant for Aus market maybe:

          https://www.assets.lighting.philips.com/is/content/PhilipsLi…

        • Can you find https://www.lectory.com.au/Philips-Hue-LED-Smart-Pendant-Lam… on www2.meethue.com.au ?

Its not on that website does not mean the product does not exist.

          • @Lectory LED Lighting: Not on .au but yes I can. That's at least more reassuring than a product with a SKU "PLHUECLRR60W" that I cannot find information anywhere other than your site.

I never said it does not exist, I'm merely asking for more information regarding the product which seems reasonable buying a $500+ product. I didn't make any allegation, why do you seem to get defensive all of a sudden? If I were a customer walking in your store and asking for more information regarding a product, would you be happier to provide?

            • @rookie317: The code SKU "PLHUECLRR60W" is the SKU we use in our system, the code is 61037 from Philips Hue.

Sorry that we can not attach the official user manual or flyers on Ozbargain, but we will be more than happy to show all the product details that are available whenever a customer walks in our store.

  • How is it powered?

Do you need a hue bridge?

    • Need to be installed by a sparky, yes it needs a Hue Bridge to active the smart features.

    Goddamn this is ugly.

    • +4

I'm with you on that one. I might consider it for the garage but $500+? Wowsers.

    • +2

It looks odd for Aussie houses but seems like it would match a traditional style Japanese home.

  • Hi OP - any chance of repeating the discount coupon on the downlights as per https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/528935 ?

    • You can send us an inquiry to [email protected] and let us know how many you after, we will reply you with a quote to strat with.

lol, i would expect a few million colour combination for this price…just White Ambiance isnt enough

    • +2

not a deal, 10-15% off is the standard discount if you just negotiate directly with this Lectory shop by email/phone.

      • That is not correct, we don't offer a discount like that.

  • I don't see why people pay such high price for this 60watts White Ambiance Smart light.
I have several Philips Hue smart light, but this is way..way over price.

    • Ok, then that is exactly why we are offering a discount on this lamp.

  • You can buy a led tv to light up a room with that price tag …
