20% off five senses coffee!

Imo the best coffee beans I've tried for espresso / white coffees. My personal recommendation is either the dark horse blend or if you're after a bit more of a bargain, go for the cleanskin for a surprise blend.

    Great Coffee
Ardi (Filter Roast) is my favourite.

Just had the Roosevelt and it's the best coffee that I've tried out of about 7-8 roasters that crop up on here (or used to). Pricey but definitely worth it.

    • dont see any Roosevelt

      • I think Roosevelt is from a different roaster that's been posted on here recently - Inglewood maybe?

    • That's Inglewood, really annoyed at myself I missed their 50% off the other day (was C&C only though).

Since I'm apparently working from home for at least another month or two, need to decide whether I stick with my favourite (enga, in Ballarat), wait for another Inglewood sale or go two cleanskins from here. Costs about the same.

    • Oops, sorry. I mean that I have the Compton. Sorry for the mix up. I also had the Inglewood Roosevelt and that was nice but not as good as the Fives Senses Compton.

  • Great coffee just don't need that much to justify free shipping

Bought 2 clean skins. One I'll put in the freezer

    • @hotpie I've never tried freezing beans. Do the beans taste as good after being frozen?

      • +1

Not 100% sure but I do know it extends their life.

  • Min order of $60 for delivery is steep as! I’ve bought a few tasters and a cleanskin though, 1st time for everything.

I have some of the Crompton Road in the grinder at the moment. They are a good bean, but pretty pricey, especially with the shipping.
Will probably switch back to Wolff once these are finished.

Oh and if your total is >$60 after 20% discount, put in "hibernate" for free shipping.

  • Just in time to top up my Crompton Rd

Also trying out the Veer Attikan and Santo Antonio this time

  • Can anyone who's tried both comment on their personal preference between Five Senses and Dane's (any varieties)?

    • +1

Tastewise I prefer Five Senses. Plus they ship faster and the beans are way fresher.

      • Thanks! Can I ask which ones you've tried from both? I usually have my coffee black (pourover) but I haven't yet figured out what flavour profiles are for me.

        • Unfortunately for 5senses it was the limited edition Leonid Ramirez (filter) beans that I went for and that isn't for sale anymore. I've had the Risarelda Decaf espresso and it tastes like most of the decaf I've had.

With Danes I tried the four elements blend but it was nothing to write home about.

If you're doing milk espresso drinks it mostly all tastes the same though.

with 5senses their coffee usually tastes like what the label describes. It's not always the case but they have a good track record. That's why I pay extra for them.

          • @Bunnyburger: Thanks for that, appreciate the advice! I'll just give both a shot over time.

  • Thanks OP, going to try a cleanskin.

I love Crompton Rd. I hate paying for postage as well but when I bought some Five Senses 1-2 months ago the postage was $7.70, and it arrived by courier IN 2 DAYS - from WA to Tassie. Pretty good postage rate if you ask me.

A lot of other roasters charge a flat rate of $9-10 postage and it takes a lot longer than 2 days to get to my house. The worst time was 15 days earlier this year from a roaster in Vic, and that was via Couriers Please.

I'm buying Crompton Rd and an Indian one I can't remember the name of but they mentioned it last night in the email I got as well.

  • Thanks, giving Crompton road a try

  • Compton road our favorite over many many others we’ve tried. IMHO worth the high price .
