TyreSales.com.au - Experiences and Opinions Please

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to hear from anyone who's bought tyres through TyreSales.com.au. Online reviews on productreview have been overall good, but the recent reviews have been complaints about the tyres sold being quite old.

I'm quite tempted to go with their PIRELLI SCORPION VERDE ALL SEASON 225/60R18 100H to replace all 4 tyres on my 2016 Subaru Outback.
It works out to be $210 per tyre for a total of $840 and if I choose Continental Tyres in Mitcham VIC, they'll include a free wheel alignment as well.

Thoughts/ Opinions would be appreciated. Cheers

nb: For some reason the Tag field wont let me type into it. Don't know if it's a Chrome browser issue.

I've got 2 sets of tyres from Tyresales, and both times, absolutely nothing has gone wrong. Very easy.

    • Did you by any chance communicate with them via email or phone? I've emailed them to find out how old the Pirelli
tyres in stock are, but no word yet. But then again its only been a day since I emailed them.

All good here, i got mine during some sort of click frenzy when it was 20% off storewide, got them installed a few days later with the free wheel alignment. No idea how old the tyres were, but they looked brand new and work fine.

My only complaint was that the install took two hours, but that's not tyresales fault, that was the installer.

I recently had 4 tyres changed with Tyroola. First time I had ordered anything like this online.
There was a slight delay in order which could have been communicated better as no stock in Melbourne so had to be shipped from Sydney.
Overall good price savings and like you paid $210 per tyre with free fitting and wheel balance with a 3rd party installer.

I would do it again as pretty easy and painless.

Tyroola weren't painless for me. 1 of my tyres was damaged a week after being fitted. It took Tyroola 4 work days to reply to my claim for their Road Hazard Warranty. I needed the car fixed ASAP so I ordered and fitted a new tyre (still tyroola), and later Tyroola rejected my claim (you can't fix until they agree). The warranty is only good if you're happy to not drive your car for 1wk++.. Be careful about their customer service, it was an expensive lesson for me.

When I went with TyreSales they were good - but the mechanic was sort of unenthusiastic about fitting the tyres. I guess they don't make much money from it. Everything went well though.

      • Tyroola were pretty bad for me as well. Their customer service are terrible, calls not getting through and pretty heartless people. Just be aware that if something goes wrong with your order, they will not be helpful. Tyroola did nothing to help out the situation saying their job was done. Eight phone calls, muiltiple emails before heading to the paypal dispute route resulting in a full refund.

Tyresales was effortless for me. However, I do not know how their customer service would respond if something goes wrong with the order.

Got a set from them last time I needed them, only issue was the installer was a Hyundai dealership who were not too happy that I not getting a service done.

Used them to secure a pricematch at MyCar (ex Kmart Tyre & Auto) incl alignment ;)

I popped into MyCar the other day to see if they'd price beat - the guy offered $209 for each tyre, but wouldn't give a free alignment - "i wont pull down my pants for that" is what he said. Real charming guy :-S

        call their 13 number.
i also took advantage of Amex 100 off 400 at MyCar, split over 2 cards.
guy at shop was happy to increase charge from 770 to 800 so i could split to 2x 400 :)

Had an OK experience. Great price for the tyre I chose, but the installer I chose was a Toyota dealership up the road who didn't seem too excited or see it as a priority, so the car wasn't ready at the designated time when I went to pick it up and I had to wait an hour.

I used them in Feb this year to replace all 4 tyres (Yokohama Advan Sport V105 225/40/R18 92W) on my Impreza. The ordering process was easy. Delivered to my nominated service center and installed within a week. The tyres were manufactured in October 19 so they are pretty fresh when you consider shipping, warehousing, distribution etc.

Your choice of service center will determine whether you have a good or bad experience. My garage stripped two wheel nuts and the bolt because they used the SI unit of "two uggah duggahs" instead of the more internationally recognised and scientific 120NM of torque.

I'd use them again except with a different service center.

I found 2 front tyres for $144 each the cheapest brand from them. Rang Kmart Tyre and price matched some German tyre at $143 each and end result $286 fitted . Saved 2 bucks and was more convenient but no extra 5% saving for gift-card unfortunately .
I'm no connoisseur of tyres , just my front tyres were going bald !

    • Its the only things keeping you on the road. The tread touching the road is the size of your hand. Think of that the next time you're going around a corner in the wet.

      Dont buy crap tyres.

    Haven't used TyreSales.

Did use Tyroola through Supercheap (extra cashback) for some cheapies for the Honda and it was great.

    4 Tyres = $212
    Delivery - free
    Fit Balance Valves $84
4 wheel alignment $70 to the fitting shop

The kids haven't aquaplaned …. yet.

I've used them multiple times now and have had no issue. The last tyre replacement dudes came to my house and changed all four tyres on my dirt drive-way. All round great experience.

Bought 2 tyres for my hatchback 2 years ago and bought 4 tyres for my suv last month. Very good experiences both the times!!!

The main problem I see with them is you don't get any after sales support at all.. they are a one off installation and thats it, where as if you bought from Bob Jane's etc they give your free tyre rotation and alignment every 3,6 Months and so on(in my recent experience anyway).

You might be saving $10-$20 a tyre from tyresales but if you're planning to get the most out of your tyres you're better off getting them done at a shop when they have sales on.

    • You make a great point with that. Thanks for the insight.

used them 5 times, for 2 and 4 tyres, they are great, installer sometimes not. Instllers have said 2 hours then taken 3 or 4 etc. Good prices each time and not seen old tyres for them

I've used them many times. Never any issue with tyresales themselves. I've even had them price match someone else that was cheaper one time. Zero hassle, friendly service, and they matched the price without any argument. Mixed experience over the years with the installation although I keep using the same shop because of convenience. Lately they've been better, perhaps since tyresales now keeps asking for feedback on the experience maybe they've upped their game a little. I still worry and check the car/wheels over when I get it back (as someone said they are probably making peanuts from the sale) but haven't had any issues in the past couple of years.
