Plantronics Backbeat Pro 2 Noise Cancelling Headphones - $189 Plus Delivery @ Harris Technology

100

Harris Technology for some reason have these for $189 on their site plus delivery. Apparently the noise cancelling in them is a bit average but the reviews otherwise rate these are pretty damn good headphones for their price point. They are usually somewhere between 220-280. For example they're presently $278 at Office works.

In fact I actually got my pair this morning from office works cause I didn't want to pay for delivery/wait for delivery. I ended up getting it from them for $189.9 via their Price beat guarantee, my local officework only had 2 pairs in stock so if you're quick you might be able to get them via officeworks.

I have a pair of this. The sound is okay but the soft skin around the ears starts peeling off quite badly after two years…

yup the pleather isn't great, you can buy replacements off AliExpress (which I have done) but they deteriorate even faster

Yeah I agree, however plantronics have the best after sales support I've ever experienced, all they asked for was the receipt and they even upgraded version 1 to the 2s no questions asked. It destroys my recent experience with Sony where they just stopped responding half way.

Edit: Also these were $120 a while back with Telstra deals

  • The sound quality of these is absolutely amazing. If u are looking for headphones with perfect enjoyable sound signature, go for these. They are also built for calls.

  • Nice bass. However it is a bit muddy compared the V Moda Crossfade 2 and Sony NC ones

    • These aren't for bass heads like V Moda or XM3. Although I wouldn't compare any of those 3 in one sentence haha

      • Backbeat Pro 2 are for bass.

Bought these for $120 - happy with them at that price. Not sure I would pay this much for them.

They do have the benefit of being one of the few headphones with AptX-LL support, so if you are susceptible to lag, and were looking for a set of bluetooth headphones for wireless gaming with minimal lag (and have an appropriate AptX-LL transmitter), these may be a decent option for you.

I wouldn't touch these for wireless gaming. Any long term use ruins the fabric. Would be far better off getting actual gaming headsets if you are in it for gaming.

      • Depends on your use case. For portable use with a Nintendo Switch and AptX-LL transmitter (and no chat - only like 2 games on Nintendo Switch support online chat through the system), I would choose these over any gaming headset.

For home use and/or online chat, yeah, I would probably choose something else.

        • Well for $120 + the dongle perhaps. I use my Cloud Mix wirelessly with my switch with no lag just fine. Much comfier and longer lasting, comes with spare pads and works awesome wired too. They are also perfect for home use/chat/skype etc.

If you plan on using these for calls and real VOIP work, You'll need the special platronics dongle to go with it as the built in Windows BT stack is a joke and you'll get LAG,drop outs and general problems. Trust me I've tried everything to fix it but without the dongle the headphones just don't work well unless you just use it for audio.

I got these headphones as part of a Voyager 8200UC kit that included the dongle for work.
