[TAS] 10 Free TAFE Short Courses @ TasTAFE

170

TasTAFE are offering free short courses to help prepare Tasmanian residents to be job-ready. Some of these courses will give you credit for the units completed which can be transferred across into a full qualification (e.g. Certificate or Diploma) in 2021.

At TasTAFE, we know some people have been doing it tough during the coronavirus period, so we’ve pulled together a program of online short courses and skill sets, many of which have NO FEES!

SKILL UP will allow you to quickly upskill, reskill or gain new skills, get ready to enter into employment, or prepare yourself to change careers once the economy starts to recover.

Short courses and skill sets on offer cover a range of industries including Health, Community Services, Business, and Hospitality and Tourism – as well as a number of skills sets designed to get you job-ready.

Most of the skills you’ll learn from SKILL UP will be transferable across industries, and you’ll also have the opportunity to gain credit for the units you complete, so that you can continue on into a full qualification at the start of 2021 – if you want to!

  • Does it come with an edu email?

    • I would assume so since you have to enroll and be approved. Their email format is education.tas.edu.au

  • Do you have to be a resident of Tasmania?

I assume they are all online.

    • I'm assuming it is but you're welcome to try.

  • +1

"Ideal for: anyone who hasn’t used a computer before!" :/

  • Thanks for the heads up, the edu.au address will come in handy when it's time to upgrade the Surface Pro and iPad, although nowhere near as valuable as the excel skills that I'm going to learn.

  • As per email received on sign up:

Which area of Tasmania you are referring to, e.g. South, North, or North West
( You must be a Tasmanian Resident to complete this course)

    • No surprises there.
