2020 Xiaomi Mijia Robot Vacuum Cleaner G1

Hi all,

I'm in the market for a robot vacuum cleaner. I bought my parents the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner back in 2017. At the moment the best price I could get that is $373.96.

Though, I also looked through Aliexpress and found a new robot vacuum Xiaomi released last month here for approx. $299AUD delivered. It looks as good if not better than the gen 1.

Basically wondering if anyone has any tips or first hand experience with the cheaper Xiaomi robot vacuums (1C, 1S), I know the gen1 is great but maybe some of the newer cheaper alternatives are even better? Cheers

    It's cheap because it doesn't have a laser turret (seriously).

        Yes. It can't map the room without wandering around and bumping into everything.

    Interesting trade off, no LIDAR but yes to mopping function. I paid $299 for my Xiaomi Gen 1 nearly 3 years ago so I'd be hesitant to pay more for the same old technology just like you. It's disappointing there's not a Xiaomi Gen 2 or 3 available at that price point anymore.

    I would avoid this until I see it in a side by side test against the LIDAR models.

    But I think no LIDAR, no deal.
