Best value carrier for back up 4g USB dongle?

I am looking for recommendations on the best value mobile carrier for a back up 4g USB dongle. This will mainly be for a back up in case the the nbn goes down and I need to continue having internet for phone calls, eftpos transactions, and general usage. The dongle and sim will be plugged into a router for backup

It's meant to be more a fail safe than regular usage, so I don't expect we'll need that much data. Hopefully won't be needing it regularly for extended periods of time.

I would prefer telstra network, but open to other networks (I would need to test reception and speeds to make sure they're suitable).

On a quick search, currently thinking about the aldimobile $95 data plan. 30gb with a 365 day expiry. I would welcome other suggestions

Maybe $10 on a amaysim pay as you go, and buy a monthly if it kicks in?

I ended up going with aldi, as it was what was available at the time. And pretty flexible to suit my usage. However this deal just came out today, might be worthwhile for others who have not committed yet:

  • Noob question: Why can't you use the Aldimobile $35 for 37gigs Mobile plan instead? Does it not work with the dongle?
