Better than pet circle's deal ($39.92), but minimum delivery is $50 (maybe?)

same price, free shipping with $50 spend otherwise $6.95 metro, also $2 cheaper if you set up a regular order

  • my cat does not need feeding, he is self sustainable, he steals food and water from my dog, he also eats frogs and geckos, and hes only 3 months old, hes a wild one, he is a sneaky ninja cat

Tempted to try a new brand of food because I only just realised how little my cat likes the Hills Science dry food I've been feeding her for her, like, entire life.

    • Keen to try Ivory Coat if its on sale.
Alternatively the Costco one if I ever bother to get a membership.

    • All my cats approve of the Black Hawk dry. I give them grain free turkey variety, but they are all good. I have tried royal canin & science diet but the ingredients aren't that good. Black hawk uses potato &/or rice, but I prefer that over corn, maize. Overall, the ingredients are quite good & reasonably priced. Ymmv, however cats appear very healthy. One thing I've noticed however, is they do put on weight if I overfeed them compared to other dry foods, I think it's the potato - I usually limit dry & encourage wet if this occurs.

    • Our three cats like this Royal Canin Indoor for what it’s worth.

    • Ziwi Peak
      Origen
      Ivory coat

Those are the best brands, grain free and actually made of meats instead of fillers like corn or other wheats. Just what your carnivore cat needs.

I put my BSH on a rotating diet, but he loves Royal canin the most for some reason, maybe because previous owners fed him that as a kitten.

Remember to consult an independent review for quality. All these big names with huge marketing budgets aren’t always best.

I’ve changed my buying habits based on these insights and community feedback.

    • So without reading the entire site, what dry cat food would you recommend? My girl is 1.5yrs old and not very big.

      • Black Hawk grain free: reasonably priced, good ingredients. Ivory coat, similar to BH, slightly more $$, good+ ingredients. Wellness CORE Grain Free, premium product, excellent ingredients, premium price. Ziwi Peak Air Dried, not exactly 'dry food', but extremely healthy for cats if they eat it. Any of these choices would be good. I try to feed my cats primarily wet food, but they really enjoy small amounts of BH.

        • I have a pair of young Birman and wondering which wet food you rate?

@darknebula: Ziwi Peak & (k9)Feline Natural are the best I have found. Expensive but I find cats are filled for longer. My cats like ZP mackerel and lamb, or sometimes rabbit. FN chicken & venison or lamb salmon. I also give them some supermarket brands (fancy feast, fussy cat) and Royal Canin Instinctive. Cats are very picky. I try to give variety to make it interesting. Some cats do better just eating the same meals though.

          • @darknebula: Show Tech Tuffer Than Tangles Slicker Brush (Long Firm Pin) - Medium #23
Best brush I have found. My cats are medium/short hair. Pins are very long, removes lots of hair. Very soft on their skin. 'Cat approved.'

      • Ziwi peak. Cost isn't a concern for kitty.

  • My cat loves this. Bought.

  • Can stack with Suncorp 3% off Amazon egift cards as well. Not sure if other ways to purchase gift cards at a discount
