saw some @ aldi! ;) maybe pop down n u'd be surprised only $13 if i remember correctly

    • We bought the LED strip today, only issue is too sensitive (I installed near shoe rack for waking up for work, yet picks up all the way down the hallway, 5metres away).
I wouldn't put it outside, or battery would die in 2 days from bugs.

      • Bugs don't set off IR sensors (if it is typical PIR one anyway)

Thats because it wasn’t pre stuck….

        Or an incomplete link

  • There's dozens of types so it'll be unlikely there's a particular favourite.

It also means it's bloody easy to just pick one and go with it.
If it's going to be stuck outside then solar powered will be relatively maintenance free. Haven't had with my one staying charged.

Though lighting up someone or something going past is pretty pointless lol. I just use it so I can see when I walk into the front yard briefly to open the door or for bin night.

  • I have experience a ****wit went inside our garden and peering through our window giving my wife a bit of scared. I chased the bastard out of the garden almost caught him when he jump into a car drive away could not see the number plate as it pretty dark during the night. Next day went bunnings and got myself solar outdoor security light installed onto the walls everything good except every freaking time a cat pass through, it lights up.

  • Not sure why people be attacking OP.
Don't worry man, i support you in these tough times.

You should have a look at their post history, it is interesting to say the least. I'm all for helping people but some people are almost beyond it.

  • SCA had them for $2 and included batteries and a storage drain saving foil. Read up on net how they work, saves us lots to answer.

  • I bought this a few months ago. https://www.bunnings.com.au/verve-design-black-payton-solar-… and can highly recommend, good quality metal waterproof product.
It is very bright and has a standby low light always on once dark. Charge lasts about 3days in overcast weather and the sensor has quite a large range. Mine will come on when cars drive past about 15m+ away.
Downside for you is it has two small screws that attach it to the wall.

  • I bought mine for $5, plastic thing, seem to have survived the recent rain storms, have it stuck to the gutter. It may go off when large vehicles like buses or trucks go past, it also depending on the weather/their speed if these large vehicles set it off?. For people it will go off if your within 1.5meters. Search my historic comments for comments info. Bought mine from a Sydney store.

  • If you have a light on the porch, you can replace it with a bulb that has motion sensor built in.

If the light is only stuck on, what if the hoodie person steals the light?

  • If you do go for a solar light with lion batteries instead of NiMH or worse still nicad batteries. They are usually better made. I bought something similar to these https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Solar-Sensor-Wall-Light-20-LED-M…
3 years ago for $10 each at Kmart and 3 out of 4 of them still work well. I didn't want to drill holes in my posts, so I put them on stick on hooks as I could not be bothered getting double sided tape that probably would have worked better. I didn't like the idea of drilling holes for a temporary device.

  • I got some Solar ones from Banggood but you need to make sure it gets good sun everyday to be effective. They've never been as bright as the day they came out of the box as they are slightly shaded for me. https://www.banggood.com/ARILUX-10W-Solar-Power-66-COB-LED-W…
