7 years still non stick? That must be magic.

    • The non stick has been wearing off the last few years but still a good pan to cook on

If it’s wearing off, that means you’re consuming it.

Best take advantage of your own deal and replace it

        • Yep they were replaced a few months ago.

        • I’m throwing out a bunch of nonstick also that are peeling. What do people recommend?

For those with nonstick, do you hand wash every time? I find the dishwasher started the peeling of our nonstick!

          • @katz: Get stainless steel and season it if you want light, castb iron if you don't mind heavy. Cast iron is a lot cheaper.

Both require a bit of a change to how you clean and maintain. Stainless steel is a bit easier because it's very quick to reseason if you want to give it a good clean with detergent.

          • @katz: Simple. Don't wash in dishwasher.
Woolworths Arcosteel Stonehenge is brilliant non-stick for half the price of this deal. Bought a flat bottom wok and so happy with it, went back to buy a frypan. Both induction capable.

            • @constipated: I'll second the woolies pans. I bought a non stick 26cm frypan in 2008 and it was my exclusive / used at least 3 times per week pan. It never peeled, still hasn't.

However, it's thin aluminium and warps (so gas only, maybe IR). Now used / pairs beautifully with a butane camping stove.

Now have induction, bought an Aldi stone pan (rubbish), Aldi non stick pan better, other half brough a Circulon $$$ pan set (total rubbish), Tfel (ok)..pretty sure this deal a Tfel pan.

          • @katz: Scanpan is highly regarded. So is essteele.

          • @katz: 18/10 stainless steel. Scanpan are decent, otherwise you can always spend more on Essteele and other brands. We recently got rid of two non-stick cooking pans and I've converted my wife to stainless steel only, because you are likely consuming the teflon in your cooking (which I think I read somewhere may have links to causing cancer). I recently bought this from eBay, otherwise you can always get some cheapo stuff from the likes of Kmart, Target, Ikea, etc.

            • @Trishool: It did cause cancer, then they changed "ingredients" so it supposedly is ok now. But, as for me, I stay clear of it. Don't want to hear; oh sorry, we've done it again in 20 years. There are many alternatives.

          • @katz: Seasoned Cast iron/Carbon steel (not the same as cast iron) for shallow fry and searing of steaks
Carbon steel for eggs, omelettes, crepes, pancakes
            Stainless steel for acidics
Use non stick only if you want to pan fry fish

  • Snagged one, 3 left before back order. Cheers OP

Not worth it. Jamie line is made in china while the regular tefal line made in france

    • I kind of trust the Chinese more with household manufacturing than the French…

      • I think he is referring more so to our economical dramas with China and possibly covid.

      • +1, have had Chinese appliance and products for years, no troubles, do what they should.
To the topic, minus the politics…I also have the Tefal heritage wok, made in French. The pan has a flatter bottom compare to the wok, good for oven and frying.
I am not a chef, I use these regularly for home cooking, in my view, they have no difference in performances what so ever.

"made in French" I envision an Australian workshop swearing their heads off while crafting your pan.

  • How noisy is this pan?

Mine just never seem to shut-up!

  • Since tefal fiasco, I avoid it. You never know if in 20 years they'll say oh we've done it again.
