  • To clarify, if you've had a rebate for solar panels you are not eligible? I just had mine installed and am in the list of postcodes..

    • +1

Did you take advantage of the $2225 or $1888 Vic Gov Rebate for solar?

    • that's right, sorry no double dipping sir

  • Whats the story with only certain postcodes being eligible?

    • The Vic Gov's battery program targets designated postcodes with high PV penetration and population growth. For an area to be considered a designated postcode it must:

      • be a high growth suburb
      • have high PV penetration

Based on these criteria, the above postcodes are eligible to take part in the Solar Homes battery program.

    • -2

Have a local member for the Labor party.

      • +5

only if it's a swing seat, if you're in what they consider a safe Labor or Coalition seat then they both know there is no point in spending money on you as the seat won't change

  • +3

Why would you not have used the solar rebate to install the panels?
Who would be still eligible for this makes no sense

    • +1

But it sounds good and gives politicians a big announcement. That is the important thing.

    • +1

Had solar installed prior to the rebate being available or household income is more than 180k pa.

  • Not sure I see the bargain? Am I missing something
Even if it was a full 4.8kw usable which I assume not as most around around 90%. then drop every year..

    First 5 years you pay $3.85 a day to save $1.44. (30cents x 4.8kw )
If you already have Solar then your lost your 12cents plus fit per kw you charge with.
