Where do you buy your coffee beans from?

I haven’t been in my office for months and miss the coffee I would get every morning.

Anyone know of decent beans that can be delivered?

Reviews look good. A bit pricey but might need to try.

You didn't mention a budget in your post.

Please go and buy cheap coffee if you want.

You asked for decent beans. These are very decent beans.

        • I’ve ordered. Will let you know if it’s decent once it arrives.

          • @Jumpup: If you grind it correctly and use a good machine, it will make good coffee.

            • @oscargamer: I’ve got the Breville Barista Express so its an expensive one.
Struggle to get the grind size correct without wasting 250 grams on trial and error.
What grind size do you use for these beans?

              • @Jumpup: No answer to that. Every machine is different.

  • My boss is obsessed with coffee and lives in inner Melbourne and has spent lockdown ordering beans from places nearby her. Loads of smaller places are selling their own beans. Some she has loved, others she wouldn’t go back to, but she’s really enjoyed sampling them from the local businesses nearby her.

Where do you live? Perhaps you can do something similar and try a few different places until you find something you like.

    • South East in Melbourne. Do these cafes have websites to order from?

Aldi beans have been good for me

    • Isn't there 4 or 5 different types they sell now?

I just got the Aldi Brazil single origin to give them a try. Usually order from Fat Poppy coffee (Hollywood blend) though because they are consistent and include the roast date on their packs.

  • Beanery Brighton. They deliver, but postage the killer. Maybe order 2kg to even postal cost. The Expresso or Guetmalan.

  • Toby's Estate do a nice roast.

Aldi Medium Roast all the way. Best mix of value and taste IMO. Would be nice if they put the roasting date on the packaging but you can make a rough guess by looking at the expiry date.

  • Any decaf ideas?
Trying to find amazing beans decaf with Swiss water process. I havent enjoyed Mountain Water decaf or CO2 decaf in my experience so far, so sticking with Swiss for now.
Pine Tea and Coffee at Castle Hill, but they are expensive at $50/kg and a fairly dark roast but flavour a bit uninspiring (also I buy in person, I think shipping cost would make them way too expensive).
I tried Inglewood with their last promo and they are ok, great crema, nice and fresh but a bit of ashy aftertaste?
Also decaf from Mifeia on ebay for $40/kg with shipping I recall were also ok - I will order some and give them a go next.

For regular beans for a long time I had been getting Campos Signature blend from IGA which had a cafe in it, so would get 1-2wk roast date and would be $40/kg (not delivered though)
Manna Beans Magical Unicorn and the Brazil Mundo have been good when on special(of course on Ozbargain)
Olivers Real food Organic blend was also good, but only if you get fresh beans (the roast date was variable, and especially when on special perhaps too long ago). Also, last I heard they had shut down temporarily, so not sure if they are shipping at the moment.

    • Update: Mifeia decaf were no good for me, taste was completely off, cold tongue aftertaste - shudder.

  • PSA - Woolworths now sells Campos beans, and they come with the roasting date on the pack.

    • Thats great thanks. I checked online and they have $45/kg which I thought was a bit expensive but found out that IGA had also increased their price to $45/kg as well.
I bought a kg from IGA this week - roast date was 25 May. Now that I know woolies have them for the same price, it will be much more convenient for me.

      • Update - just grabbed a 500g bag of the Aldi Lazzio "Medium Dark" beans for $5.99 yesterday.
Just ran the standard settings on my grinder, 19g in the double basket, 28s extraction, 32g out from the BES920, surprising flavour, good crema, used with textured A2 milk for a flat white.
"Best before 12 August 21" marked on the bag.
I am guessing roast date is 12 May by the "B200512" marking under the best before marking, which may explain why they are still in the acceptable zone and extracting well.
Liking these ones, especially for $5.99!

        • Hey is 28 seconds from the moment you hit the double shot or when it starts to pour?

          • @suudo: that what was showing on the machine - so from the button press, including the preinfusion ramp up
